Think about it. All the advances of modern society and we still yearn for very simple, earthy solutions. Do you think its sentimentality? Or long buried instincts? I would like to dedicate this space as a place of mutual learning. Let's learn together. The concept of decolonization is not just a radical term, in fact its not exclusive to one race of people. It is however, an invitation to broaden your perspective. What kinds of things do we take for granted? For example, why do we rely on the pharmacy for medicine, when most of the vitamins, creams, and pills, come directly from nature? Other than safety standards why do we assume this disconnect is in our best interests? The answer is not a simple one, but it opens the door in order to explore how and why we got here in this particular time and space. *Please note that its not my intention to advocate for some of the more extreme natural medicine. I will not tell anyone not to get vaccinated, or that taking Ivermectin will protect you from covid.* What want to do, and I think my ancestors would agree, is encourage the gathering of knowledge and evaluative thinking. So nitap (friend in M'kmaq), how did you end up in this community? What resonated for you? I'd love to hear what dream, or book, or movie made you want to look deeper at the path through the woods. Be forwarned, there be cultural heros and tricksters discussed within. I will rant philosophically (and otherwise) about culturally relevant plants (mostly Mi'kmaq because that's my experience), starting a permaculture community, finding dog hair everywhere, and literally so much more. Trigger warning: Aforementioned dog hair. I say bad words sometimes. I have Audhd but in the best way. I will respect you and expect you to treat community members in a good way. Bullies will be given a map to take a hike in a nettle patch. Just sayin' If that doesn't scare you, pull up a chair and sit with me for a cuppa. We'll be sure to have adventures. 😀

My path is rooted in deep respect for Mi’kmaq traditional knowledge and guided by my responsibility to share what I have been taught in a good way.
