How do you reset?
Some days, it feels like I have the whole world at my fingertips. Other days, it feels just as far away as the next timeslot on my calendar. Right now, the best thing I can do for myself is step back, reset, and move my body. (Workout first, mastermind meeting later — both are important fuel.) Curious — what’s your favorite way to reset when time feels tight?

I like to sit outside and squish my toes in the dirt, or grass, or sand and if it's not too hot! Otherwise it could sitting on the back porch in the shade for a few minutes watching the fighter jets fly by. Could be sitting down with my journal and writing about what's happening in that moment and what just happened that I feel disconnected. Or it could be laying down for a power Catnap (it's a 30 min HemiSync recording - very good). Or sitting and doing a guided meditation. Going for a walk. Sitting an reading. Anything that takes me off electronics and into the present moment. Yes I do use my phone for the guided meditation and the Catnap. But if I read I don't pick my kindle, I pick up a real book.
James Patterson Launches “Go Finish Your Book!” Grants—for Real
Hey aspiring novelists (and those who just like shiny ideas) — Big news courtesy of bestselling author and philanthropist James Patterson: he’s kicked off a bold new campaign called “Go Finish Your Book!”, offering grants of up to $50,000 to emerging writers. Yep — $50K per person. Twelve writers were selected from hundreds of hopefuls. These grants are meant to provide writers with the time, space, and motivation to push their manuscripts across the finish line.(AP News, CBS News, Publishers Weekly) Partners in the Plot Twist Patterson's doing this in collaboration with some heavyweight partners in the literary world: - PEN America - The Authors Guild - Iowa Writers’ WorkshopAnd others like AWP and Girls Write Now also helped connect the dots.(Hachette) A Little Motivation in a Tough World In Patterson’s words: “There are so many incredible stories out there that never get written because life gets in the way. I wanted to give these writers a little time, a little space, and a push to say: your voice matters — now go finish your book.”(AP News) What Are the Winners Working On? The 12 inaugural winners span a variety of genres—from memoirs and literary fiction to short stories, graphic novels, and even comics. A few names you might recognize: - Jungin Angie Lee, working on a short story collection about friendship, family, and disability, said the grant was “an extremely generous, much-needed burst of motivation and boost of confidence.” - Medar de la Cruz and T Kira Madden are also among the recipients—each with their own ambitious projects in the wings.(My Modern Met)

This is awesome! I'm figuring out how to create more time so I can write. With all going on right now it is hard to find the time to write. I'm hoping when I get to NZ to be able to have more time for writing. I have some great plans for when I get back to NZ for videos and writing. Can't wait to get started but first, there are some things that need to be done before I can incorporate that into my life.

@Terza Ekholm distractions are all around us. Some bigger than others. 😆
👵 Cooking the Books (But Not That Way…)
I just started writing something I never expected:A parody cookbook for crypto traders. Yes, really.Chapters like Rug-Pull Resistant Brownies and Pump-and-Dump Stew are finding their way into existence. It’s funny, but it’s also teaching me something: parody can sneak past the inner critic and let the words flow. And here’s the honest part: I’ve started communities before, gotten excited… and then life pulled me away. Maybe you know that feeling? Writing tugs at us, even when other things demand our time. So today, I’m simply showing up here — not with perfection, but with the mess and momentum of beginning. 💬 I’d love to hear from you: - What project (big or small) is tugging at your sleeve right now? - Have you ever written something unexpected — maybe even a little absurd — that surprised you? Let’s remind each other that starting messy still counts.

I have always loved to write. Back in my Royal New Zealand Air Force days it became known that I love to write. My Flight Sargent came up with a couple of topics and asked to write about them that evening and bring them the next day. So I did. Blew him away. But I was now in a writing mode but needed things to write about. A group of friends got together most evenings in the cafe. I would ask them for something to write about and then next evening entertain with what I wrote. They weren't long pieces but they were fun to write. I remember one idea was "My Life as an Abused Tube of Colgate Gel". They came up with all sorts of ideas for writing topics for me. It was a very fun time. Now I write whatever I feel like. It could be a story, blog, poem, article, whatever strikes me. Last year I wrote my first song. This year I used AI to put music and a singer to the lyrics. I have two books published and 16 prompted journals. I am slowly writing family stories as I uncover information about them. I have a several books underway. I have a notebook full of ideas for a book series that blossomed from doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of a magazine stand. When I was driving my RV I came up with ideas for spin off series based on where I was driving or visiting. Thank goodness I had a digital recorder with me! Even with AI there are times I'm brainstorming and it comes up with a list of ideas and I will go through the list and ask it to put some on the shelf to come back to later as the idea inspired the thought of turning that into a story either a short story or full length novel. I note down the genre, and a few words to help get me back into the idea later, then back to what I was working on. Inspiration is all around us, we just have to be open to listening and receiving.

Great suggestions, @Terza Ekholm. @Paul Russo what sort of things are you writing about for the school bus industry? I have a son who drives school buses, so he may be interested. Keep writing the book and the market will reveal itself.

I’m Helen Brahms and I’m working on different business ideas and ideas for my daily podcasts. Hmmm favourite book, movie or vacation spot. That’s tough! I love to read, am a movie buff, especially love James Bond and have a James Bond fest every November watching them order. Follow that with a Holiday Movie Fest that starts Dec 1 with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Books almost done listening to Jana Deleon’s Miss Fortune Mystery Series - there are 28 books, so far in the series, they are amazing, hilarious and help you forget about life for awhile. I have lost count how many times I have listened to the series. Also love the Jack Reacher book series and have listened to them multiple times. I read just about anything except Horror. Love reading/listening to biographies and memoirs. Favourite vacation spot…anywhere a cruise ship goes. I love cruising. Also love road trips.
