Unpopular opinion but I don't mind them as long as like @Elena Maren said they have charisma when reading it. And not the whole thing. I will do an intro and read because when I'm introducing someone I want to make sure I hit the important notes. I'm not a pro speaker but I'm getting better. Reading a script helps me stay on track and not forget what I was wanting to say. I'll get better. Until I do, I'll script it. But I also read, say, rewrite, speak it out loud again so that I've got the flow. To each their own.
