🖤✨ Get to Know Me + Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone, and welcome—I am so truly glad you’re here. 🖤 I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and also invite you to share your story, because this space is not just about learning—it’s about connection, growth, and building something meaningful together. My name is Jessica Ann Disciacca, and I’m a dark fantasy author, world-builder, and the co-founder of Dark Flame Society, where I create immersive literary events and opportunities that support authors, artists, and creatives. My writing journey began back in high school, but I officially wrote my first book in 2019 called The Morn Series. That first draft came in at over 350,000 words (yes… it was a lot 😅), and I remember feeling completely overwhelmed by the editing process. Instead of pushing through, I set it aside and started something new—Awakening the Dark Throne. I wrote that book in just two weeks, and in 2024 it was picked up by a publisher. While that experience taught me so much, I quickly realized that traditional publishing—at least with certain publishers—wasn’t the right fit for me. That’s when I fully stepped into the indie author world. From there, I dove in completely. I took classes, studied everything I could, learned through trial and error, and built my process from the ground up. My first year, I published four books. My second year, two more—and this year, I’m publishing my seventh. Now, my passion is helping other authors navigate this journey with more clarity, confidence, and support than I had in the beginning. Through my books, events, and communities like this one, my goal is simple:👉 to help you grow, be seen, and succeed as an author. ✨ Now it’s your turn… I would love to get to know you! Drop a comment below and share: 📖 What are you currently working on? ✍️ Are you writing your first book or have you already published? 🔥 What genre do you write in? 🎯 What is your biggest goal as an author right now? 💭 What is one thing you’re currently struggling with or want to learn?

Hi everyone! I'm Hazie, and I'm so thrilled to be here! I have loved reading my entire life, and within the past year I decided it was time for the next chapter: become an author! Yes, pun intended! I am currently working on my debut novel, Of the Beautiful and Haunted! I have officially finished writing it (over 112,000 words!), and it is in the hands of my beta team! After that, it is going to my editor and then ARC readers! A little more about my book: it is a princess x guard romantasy, featuring tropes like forced proximity, forbidden love, slow burn romance, age gap, mental health representation, and more! It is set to release 6/6/26! So close! A little more about me: I am a romantasy author writing plot-driven, swoonworthy, and heartbreaking love stories highlighting representation of mental health and chronic health conditions! When I am not writing, I am a nurse working in pediatric psych and at a pediatrician's office. So, it is very important to me to include mental health and chronic health representation in my books due to that and my own struggles throughout my life. I live with my fiancé and our "zoo," as I jokingly call them! We have two beautiful German Shepherds, a bearded dragon, a banana ball python, and a crested gecko! My biggest goal right now is to publish my first book and connect with readers over it! I also would love to attend an event as an author vendor! I think the biggest struggle I have right now is making sure I do everything I need to do and do it properly, before my publication day. I'm slowly researching and learning everything that needs to be done. I would appreciate any tips, tidbits, or advice! Fun fact: I do all my character art using Procreate! I have been an artist pretty much my whole life! Of course, now it's a little better than when I was like four, but my grandpa still thought it was good enough back then to have it framed til the day of his passing, so I'm trusting his judgment and saying pretty much my whole life. I've used many mediums over the years, but I have loved digital art recently, especially for my book (and future books)!
