Day 69/120: Progress Isn't Perfect, and That's Okay
Hello everybody! How are you all doing? Hope you're doing well and staying positive. As for me, things haven't really been going the way I wanted lately. My internet has been out since Sunday, and I only got it back a few hours ago. It definitely slowed me down, but if this journey has taught me anything, it's that progress isn't about everything going according to plan. It's about continuing to move forward, no matter what life throws at you. I still managed to complete my Aniko Lock In Challenge, although I unfortunately lost my streak. It was a little frustrating, but honestly, that's just another challenge to overcome. I'll build it back, and this time it'll be even stronger. Now that I'm back online, I'm shifting my focus to more Reading & Writing practice, especially verb questions and punctuation. Punctuation has definitely been one of my weaker areas, but that's exactly why I'm spending more time on it. You don't improve by avoiding your weaknesses. Here's to getting back on track. Good luck with your prep, and I'll see you all soon. Day 63/120: Hard Questions Aren't Magic
Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well and enjoying your SAT prep. As for me, I've been working through the harder Module 2 math topics for a while now. To be honest, some of these questions feel like they came from a completely different planet when you first look at them. But I've started to notice something interesting. Once you actually understand the idea behind the question, it becomes second nature. Most "hard" SAT math questions aren't really made up of advanced math. They're usually just a few basic concepts combined into one problem. What has been helping me is writing down exactly what the question gives me and exactly what it's asking for. Once I break the problem into smaller pieces, it becomes much more manageable. I think that's true for more than just the SAT. Most difficult things in life become easier when you stop looking at the whole mountain and start climbing one step at a time. I also completed my Aniko Lock In Challenge today, so the consistency streak is still alive. Good luck with your prep, and I'll see you all soon. Day 59/120: The Loop Begins
Hello hello everyone! How are you all doing? Hope you're doing great as always. Yesterday was one of those days where life just gets in the way. I was extremely busy with things outside of SAT prep, so much so that I haven't even slept yet since yesterday. It is what it is. Sometimes life throws challenges at you, and all you can do is keep moving forward. Despite that, I've been staying pretty consistent with the Aniko Lock In Challenge, and honestly, it's been a lot of fun. What I really like about it is how it pushes you to stay accountable. Before, you could compete with a friend or two, but now it feels like a whole new ball game. You're competing with more people, climbing leagues, and constantly seeing others put in the work. It definitely brings out that competitive side in me. Today, I rewatched James Lu's SAT Desmos guide because after my last practice test, I felt like I had forgotten a few things. Sometimes going back to review the fundamentals is exactly what you need before moving forward. My plan from here is pretty simple: finish the remaining coursework in Mission 1400+, then focus heavily on solving problems, reviewing mistakes, learning from them, and repeating that cycle all the way until test day. At this point, that's really what improvement comes down to. How is everyone else's prep going? Are you still learning content, or have you entered the practice-test-and-review phase? Good luck with your prep, and I'll see you all soon. Day 56/120: Not Every Score Will Make You Smile
Hello everyone, hope your SAT prep is going well. As for me, I'm feeling a little uncertain right now, but I know that's just part of the process. Today, I took my first Aniko practice test. To be honest, my score came in lower than I was hoping for. At first, that was a little disappointing, but if I'm being realistic, I expected something like this to happen. Practice tests are meant to show us where we stand, not just make us feel good. I've also heard that Aniko practice tests can be more challenging than the Bluebook practice tests, so if that's true, it makes this result a little easier to understand. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, I'm not going to let one score change my mindset or my goals. One practice test doesn't define where you'll end up. What matters is learning from it, identifying weaknesses, and coming back stronger the next time. The road to a great SAT score was never going to be perfectly smooth. There will be good days, bad days, and days where you question yourself. The important thing is to keep moving forward. So that's exactly what I'm going to do. Have any of you ever gotten a practice test score that was lower than expected? How did you bounce back? Good luck with your prep, and I'll see you all soon. Day 54/120: Finals Are Over. Time to Lock In.
Hello hello! How are you all doing? Long time no see. I know I haven't posted in a little while, but that's because I was finishing up my final exams. I had Geology, then Math, and finally Chemistry today, so there really wasn't much time left for anything else. But now that's all behind me. With 65 days left until the August SAT, it's officially time to lock in. My goal is to crush this test on my first attempt. Even though I could technically take it again later, I'm approaching this as if August is my only shot. I still have other exams, college applications, and plenty of other things to focus on, so I want to make this attempt count. The good news is that I can now dedicate my full attention to SAT prep. The timing couldn't be better. I also completed my Aniko Lock In Challenge, and honestly it was a great experience. It's always motivating to be surrounded by other people who are putting in the work and chasing ambitious goals. The summer grind officially starts now. How many days do you guys have left until your SAT, and what are you focusing on most right now? Good luck with your prep, and I'll see you all soon. @Yara Ahmad Hey Yara, hope you're doing well. Of course! So far, I've mostly been following the pyramid on Gamify SAT. For content, I've mainly used Mission 1400+, John's videos, and videos from a variety of other creators rather than just one specific person. I also follow the daily Aniko study plan, which helps me stay consistent and know exactly what to work on each day. A couple of resources I'd highly recommend if you haven't seen them already are James Lu's Desmos guide and his Reading guides. I found both of them really helpful. Other than that, I take a Bluebook practice test every two weeks to track my progress and see what areas still need work. Hope that helps, and I wish you all the best with your prep.
