Entrepreneurship: Should You Quit Your Job?
Here's a good short video from Codie Sanchez talking about whether you should quit your job while on your entrepreneurship journey. This was something that I battled with last year before starting my business. I wasn't enjoying my day job and was contemplating quitting completely. My life and mind was all over the place and I knew that I would be more fulfilled if I went all-in with my business. However, I decided to do part-time on both my business and day job. It has been a year and I am glad I went this route. Now I am slowly starting to make an income with my business, but I know it will eventually grow big enough to finally quit my day job. It's been a strenuous and long journey so far, but I enjoy every single step along this path I have chosen. I hope this video and my story can help encourage you if you are stuck at this point of your entrepreneurship journey! Sleep is Your Superpower
Here's a good short video of Dr. Matthew Walker talking about the benefits of sleep for improving learning and memory. I would typically only get about 5-6 hours of sleep a night (I blame college for this) and thought that I was doing okay and was somewhat productive throughout the day. But about 2.5 years ago I got deeply obsessed with the topic of sleep and started diving deep into the benefits of optimizing sleep. Dr. Matthew Walker is one of the leading scientists and advocates for sleep and I love all his research and videos about it. I was a big marijuana smoker and learned that this impacts my REM sleep (which is DREAM sleep and improves learning and memory). I didn't believe this was true until I went and got myself an Oura ring to track my sleep. On a score from 0 to 100, my scores ranged from 60-70 and it showed a lot of red bars. Below I included a graphic of my sleep progress from the first night on July 30, 2021. This made me realize that I needed to get on top of this, because I'm a perfectionist by nature as well as an optimist (optimizing all areas of my life). So I started watching and changing all my habits that would affect my sleep which included cutting out marijuana, getting to bed earlier, adjusting my environment for better sleep (cold temperatures, socks, dimming lights, etc.), prohibiting coffee after 2 PM, and other things. After making these changes, I saw dramatic increases in my mood, self-regulation, brain fog, memory, alertness, and much more. Life just felt so much better and I felt more productive throughout my days. So if you're having trouble getting sleep, I highly recommend you start researching the benefits of sleep to improve your quality of life. Dr. Matthew Walker is a good place to start and I love his book called "Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams." Here's a link on amazon if you want to check it out: https://amzn.to/3SWUbFc I feel sleep is definitely the #1 thing you should prioritize in your life that way you will be able to do so much better in all different areas as well. It's done wonders for me, although I still have some hiccups every now and then, but it's the one thing I prioritize every single day. You don't have to get all crazy and get an Oura ring like I did (about $300 - $400 now), but definitely start testing out what happens in your day if you get a certain amount of sleep. It's all about trial and error.

Wow I never knew you used to have a marijuana addiction. I’ve been sober since Jan 12th. Another thing that helped me was no phone after 8:30pm. The blue light deeply affects your serotonin levels.
