Need to temporarily shut down the Bass Corner
Good morning friends and bass lovers. Due to time and financial strains that come with life in WA state, I have to suspend the Bass Corner and focus on my main business for a while. I love this community concept, but it costs money to maintain and I want to be able to give it more attention that I am able to at the moment. The setting and memberships will stay archived so, hopefully soon, it will be easy to start up again. I still plan on shooting video for the YouTube channel as well as maintaining the email list with lessons and updates so stay alert to that. Thanks again for joining the Bass Corner and don't be afraid to reach out. Keep on thumpin!

That's life for you.....and me. Also too busy keeping my head above water right now. Why don't you start a subReddit. It's free and more people will flock there than the smaller Skool. Godspeed and keep on going in the low end.
6345789, that's Wilson Pickett's number
I really love playing this. Lifts my spirits up.

No, I don't know that version. Where did you see this? I saw it being played on the 5th fret somewhere, split off the bass part from the original recording with AI and figured out the rest myself. It just flowed, so that's why I stuck to the 5th fret. Not that difficult to figure out anyway, because "Duck" Dunn used the same riff (1, 6, 5, 3) in other songs as well, e.g. Knock On Wood by Eddie Floyd.

@Mike Burkhart I put out 15 YT videos till now and this one is not the most watched, but the one with the most likes. I wonder why? I actually really like to play this one, and I do so most days. It just flows well and so do most "Duck" Dunn tunes. Working on Soul Man by Sam & Dave right now. Stay tuned.
Blondie copied this original
And their version was awesome, but this is the original: The Paragons with The Tide is High, written by John Holt, who probably also did lead vocals. There was no bass version of this on Youtube, so I made my own to share. Enjoy the weekend.

Summer by Skinshape
was the first song I transcribed by ear, by myself, because there was no score/tab available online. Quite a good exercise and it also means I know how to play this song by heart. Enjoy the weekend playing bass, lads.
Short Scale Short Vid
Did a short video demoing this new axe. Pizzicato, slap, and pick style. Just for fun (and to give props to the maker)

Nice rounded sound, still punchy. Sound really good for a short scale bass.

Born just before the summer of love. Love 60s/70s music, especially soul, R&B, rocksteady, ska.
