I live pretty deep in the country. Folks around me relate a little differently than more urban areas. I joke with myself that I have (and maintain) a 'buddy list' in my mind where I have learned to not trust "parts or aspects" of my friends/buddies. In life, we all make mistakes especially in the eyes of those who have different perspectives. Being hurt by those with different value systems caused more social separation in my youth than it does now as I have learned to work hard to protect myself from others transgressions so that I can participate with them in the areas of life we can work as a team. Its challenging at times but we all need forgiveness now and then and that's beautiful when it happens!

Hello! Welcome to the Project Stoic Community! The goal of this community is to help philosophers and deep thinkers gain confidence and become better leaders by using philosophy to “know thyself.” Start by checking out these links - Build Your Own Practical Philosophy community  - Learn the Foundations of Stoicism  - Read the 10 Immutable Laws of the Universe Book  To kick things off, please comment below introducing yourself. Let us know: 1. Your name 2. What project or philosophy you're currently pondering See you in the comments! PS. Skool communities are the future of online communities. If you're looking to start your own, please use this affiliate link to that. It won't cost you any extra, but instead of all your money going to Sam Ovens and Alex Hormozi, half will go to them and half will go to me, which helps fund Project Stoic content!

@Jack Denmo I think a good quote for this is: "there are no financial choices, only moral." My .02 is to bind them both together into your art; consider money as the life blood of your creature. You want it clean and flowing fast! Consider also the full send of Van Gogh who never really profited much in his life but I feel that his suffering did profit his art after he was gone... Good luck!
Best Quotes
"Die with memories, not dreams" "All the things you want in life are on the other side of pain, discomfort and difficulty” "Fear is temporary, regret is forever" "worrying about losing is losing before you begin"

@Jeff Marr Wow, that first one slaps! Might it be a good one sentence description of Stoicism? I'll add it to my list...
Give me some journaling prompts.
I’ve been doing more journaling recently. I think it is a great way to pass time and learn about yourself. If you have any journaling prompts that are interesting lmk.

Here's my comment, offered as if I journaled much; I'm kinda hit n miss... Be brutally honest with yourself, but with love. If mad gains are to be expected ya gonna wanna go hard in the paint. To grow in a certain area, focus on that 'muscle group' like this. Gratitude: write things you are grateful for and if you run out then you can hunt for them for the rest of the day! Write your weakness down and then update your journal on ways (even small) you have sought to overcome it. Autism gave me a pretty large video card for journaling with pictures in my mind but it has helped a lot for me to 'externally process' some stuff by writing it down and then looping back and rereading my thoughts in a different frame of mind to draw them into a better form.
This quote from Jung has me thinking 🤔
I often am like damn I got no clue how this is going to work out. But this makes things a little more comfortable in a way. If Jung says this is the way, I am on board with it. Does this resonate with your path?

Very true. I think this has been revealed to many other profound thinkers through history and I will offer my best smash cut it the key of... Aurelius -"The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." Nietzche -“I know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and the impossible” Jesus -“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. I don't think we should choose difficulty in our lives but making the right choice often involves difficulty and if we avoid pain and suffering then we have shirked some tasks that the creator or the universe or whatever have placed in our path.
