Welcome to the Nervous System Reset Academy. Start here.
Welcome to the Nervous System Reset Academy. If you are new here, start simple. Begin with 5 & 5 Co-Regulation, the program you get started with for $1. It is the front door, and it teaches you the mini practice everything else builds on. Premium is where the practice stops being solo. The 5 & 5 Co-Regulation Group pairs you with practice partners in our Telegram mini community for daily minis, and Premium and VIP members join the live Monday meditation and the Tuesday podcast recording every week. When you are ready to go deeper, Nervous System Mastery is the core program of this Academy. Seven modules, taken in order. The live group coaching calls (held once a week, alternating Tuesday at 10am and Thursday at 3pm Pacific, hosted by senior Satori Prime coaches), the replays, the Meditation Library, and the Resource Library all exist to support that work. How this room works, our three rules in full: 1. Practice comes first. This is a practice room, not a content library. Do the daily practice, pair up for your minis, and let your posts come from what you are actually living. 2. Share from your own experience. Speak from your own body and your own story. What members share here stays here. This is peer practice and support, not medical or mental health advice. 3. No pitching. Be good to each other. No self-promotion, outside offers, affiliate links, or DM soliciting. Disagreement is welcome, contempt is not. Where things go: share wins in Wins, ask in Questions, and log your practice in Daily Practice. One request as we start: introduce yourself below. Where are you joining from, and what is one pattern you already know your nervous system runs when life gets loud? Keep it honest, keep it short. Read a few introductions and reply to one person. That is how this room becomes a community and not just a library. A quick note on posting: new accounts unlock creating their own posts at Level 2, which you reach just by engaging here. Commenting, including your introduction below, is open from day one.

@Ryan Key glad you're here and excited to hear how this work impacts your life.
Hacking stress?
People tell me that all the time, about themselves, usually with some pride in it. And from the outside it is true. The founders and executives I work with rarely look stressed. They look composed. Handled. Like the steadiest person in the room. Then we slow down, and the body starts telling a quieter story. I know this one from the inside, the pattern of it. Dysregulation in high performers almost never looks like falling apart. It looks like functioning, with a cost nobody itemized. Today I want to give you the three signs I see most often, the ones people recognize in themselves within about ten seconds of hearing them. The jaw that never got the memo. Shoulders up. Teeth set. A neck that aches at the end of a day spent sitting down. Most people carrying this have carried it so long they call it posture. It is not posture. It is a guard that went up years ago and never received word that it could come down. If your shoulders drop a full inch when you finally notice them, they were working all day. Wired at night, flat in the morning. The day ends and the mind speeds up. Replay, rehearse, scroll, sleep lightly. Then the alarm, and there is nothing in the tank, even after eight hours in bed. That is not bad sleep. That is guarded sleep. The system never stood down, so it never refilled. Coffee ends up doing the job rest was hired for. Numb, and calling it calm. This is the quietest one. Success lands and feels like nothing. A conversation is happening and some part of you has left it. Scrolling without reading. People assume it is steadiness, and it can look exactly like steadiness from across a table. But calm has warmth in it. Numbness turned the volume down on joy and grief together, because feeling everything got too expensive. None of these are diagnoses, and I am not offering them as one. They are patterns to notice. And patterns, once you can feel them while they are happening, stop running the whole show. There are four more signs in the full piece on the site, the gut, the short fuse at home, the shallow breath, the conversations that never end. For today, three is plenty. Start where you recognized yourself.

@Dan Blackman I would analyze this from meriad of places. Certainly nervous system, but also hormonal, food and lifestyle.
New Episode: 40 Hours a Week, Groundhog Day at Home with Andrew O'Brien of Dad Tribes (Ep. 375)
Our latest episode of Old Souls & Seekers is live. Ilan and I sat down with Andrew O'Brien, founder of Dad Tribes, a free community for fathers with members in 20 countries. So many of the dads Andrew works with are putting in 40, 60, even 80 hours a week and living the same day on repeat, assuming that is simply what providing costs. We got into what it actually takes to be present at home when work takes that much of you. We talked about why leading yourself comes before leading your family, and why your kids learn far more from what they see and feel at home than from anything you tell them. Andrew also shared the turning point that changed how he shows up for his family, and why a few minutes of stillness a day can change the energy you bring through the door. In this episode: • What Dad Tribes Is and Why It's Free • Why Men Need In-Person Connection • The Groundhog Day Trap • What Kids Actually Learn From the Home • The Energy Behind the Action • Children as Growth Partners • A Personal Turning Point • Meditation for Tough Guys and the 28-Day Challenge Listen to the episode here: https://podcast.satoriprime.com/episode/375-40-hours-a-week-groundhog-day-at-home-andrew-obrien-dad-tribes Follow Old Souls & Seekers on your favorite platform so you never miss an episode: • Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id1202969941 • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4MSqISznYVAfP5DtF6LHeM For the dads here, and for anyone who loves one: where does the Groundhog Day feeling show up most for you, at work or in the hour after you walk back in the door? Tell me in the comments. I read every one. - Guy

The Optimization Paradox (and this work)
REFLECTION ON AI AND THE ATTENTION ECONOMY (and finding spaciousness for it) What happens when everyone becomes their own AI-optimized salesperson? (and upgrades their patterns to work even faster with AI) A seven-step graphic promised a better LinkedIn profile: download it, feed it to AI, sharpen the headline, rewrite the experience, add keywords, and paste the result back. (Hi, I am Dan. Coach. L3 grad. And this is a reminder that you can hold sovereign space for yourself while you read AI slop) It is practical advice. It also raises a question that is more interesting than whether the steps work. (Ever notice that you are not the one reading and ask where the part is really reading from… before the next paragraph, before the ask of you, at the point where the mind is already concluding things) If everyone can make their professional presentation more persuasive in minutes, what happens when everyone does? (Invitation to sit here and wait and record a voice note of what comes up) Better tools can help capable people become legible to people who would otherwise overlook them. That matters. But as optimization becomes ordinary, its advantage diminishes. The profile can become more convincing faster than the underlying experience changes. Eventually, polished language is less a differentiator than the price of admission. (Can you feel the lack of nervous system in this AI essay vs me in parentheses? How you are full and this is empty? Valid, perhaps, but void…) This is where I want to distinguish a compelling narrative from a sound one. The story might flow beautifully, the credentials might be searchable, and the call to action might convert. But do the premises hold? Do the claims match the person and the work? (Can you hold space for the mental work from this idea space and the internal sensations arising from it?) AI is remarkably good at producing a beautiful explanation of something it has misunderstood. Humans can do that, too. (Offer to pause here and record another voice note and stream what this experience is flowing for you)
