We had a short week for students, full moon, Halloween, World Series (GO BREWERS). It was anarchy. I tried a settle down activity I saw somewhere on the WWW; the Mustache Game. The students were supposed to be working quietly on their chromebooks, but the whispers turned into giggles and laughter in no time. I asked everyone to hold up their pencils and told them we were going to play the Mustache Game. The winner gets a sticker. All they had to do was to hold their pencil with their top lip like a mustache. Last one to drop it wins. To be eligible, you must continue working on the assignment. A updated version of the Quiet Game. It worked...blissful silence for the next eight minutes until the bell rang. Best part, they asked to play again.

My plan was to study. I ended up cleaning and canning.
