The Symptoms of Prostate Cancer
Quick one, and I would like actual answers rather than polite nods. A survey of men 55 and over in the States found that 41% either have had prostate cancer or know someone who has. Only 6 per cent could identify all of the symptoms. Caveat first, because I am not going to put a number in front of you without saying where it came from. It was run by a hospital system, and they did not publish how many men they asked or when. So it is a snapshot, not a study. I am using it because the gap feels right, not because the numbers are bulletproof. Here is the list they used: Difficult, frequent or urgent urination Blood in urine or semen Fatigue Lower back, hip or thigh pain Erectile dysfunction Weight loss I will go first. Fatigue and weight loss would not have been on my list sixteen years ago. I would have said the waterworks ones and stopped there, and I would have felt quite well informed doing it. Also I want to be honest here, with Prostate Cancer, by the time you recognize most of the symptoms listed, the cancer may have already spread. The safest choice is to get a regular PSA test, so you know your baseline. So, which one on that list surprised you? Put it in the comments. I want to know which of these we are collectively not carrying, because that is the one worth a post of its own. https://www.skool.com/prostate-paladin-4886/about

Getting the Right Questions Asked, before Treatment
Bill Coren is seventy six. He has had Crohn's disease for years, and two bowel surgeries because of it. When prostate cancer turned up, the first plan on the table was another surgery. He was not scared of the cancer. He was scared of what one more operation might do to a body that had already been cut into twice before. His team at Fox Chase asked about his whole history before they picked a plan. They found a treatment that goes straight into the prostate and comes back out, no incision needed. His PSA dropped and has stayed low since 2023. He still coaches cross country and track. Has anyone in this community had a doctor ask about their whole health picture before choosing a prostate treatment, not just the prostate on its own? What did that conversation look like?

How to Get the Most From the Prostate Paladin Classroom
The Prostate Paladin Classroom is designed to take you from understanding the basics of prostate health through to practical information you can use for yourself or someone you care about. If you're starting from the beginning, begin with Welcome to Prostate Paladin and then move into Start Here – Prostate 101 Awareness. These sections give you the foundation and help you understand the prostate, where it is, what it does and what changes with age. Once you have the basics, Prostate 201 – Understanding takes you deeper into topics including BPH, prostatitis, prostate cancer, symptoms, the DRE, PSA, imaging, biopsy and understanding a diagnosis. The Classroom also contains practical guides you can use when a particular situation comes up. These include resources for families, starting conversations, preparing for a doctor's appointment, understanding the DRE and PSA testing, and learning more about home PSA tests and prostate supplements. You don't have to go through everything in one sitting. Start with the basics, work through the Classroom at your own pace, and return to the practical guides whenever you need them. Head over to the Classroom and begin with “Welcome to Prostate Paladin.”
