31 contributions to AI for Beginners
Ready for the future of work :)
Hey everyone! 👋 I'm Jessica, and I'm pretty new to the automation and AI world but really excited to dive in and learn from all of you. I've been lurking around here for a bit, watching how creative everyone gets with Make and other tools—honestly, some of the solutions you all come up with are mind-blowing. I'm coming at this from more of a "practical problems need clever solutions" angle rather than having a super technical background, so I'll probably ask some basic questions along the way. But I'm curious about everything and always happy to brainstorm or test things out. Looking forward to figuring this stuff out together and hopefully contributing something useful as I go!

Thanks for sharing this, Jake! Your timing is perfect - I've been looking for ways to streamline our CRM integration with marketing campaigns. Just skimmed through the playlist and the automation for qualifying leads based on engagement metrics looks incredibly useful. Have you seen businesses get the most impact from any particular automation in this collection?
Enlarging the scope of scenario Weekly Competitor News
Here is the scenario by Jake https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u68lIsMgrx8 I find that scenario very useful. I use it a lot in the field. Thus if we add to the 1st source of competitor information (RSS feed collector Inoreader) a 2nd source of information, like Google Alerts, the scenario will get an additional power. My objective is to add a 2nd data source to the module "Create a Completion Module". One common flow, 2 modules with incoming data: 1st module - Inoreader. 2nd module - Watch emails Gmail. Google Alert to be settled up for that Gmail address. Can anyone help to set-up the right connector (filter etc) to add “Watch emails Gmail” gmail to “Create a Completion (Prompt)”, please? An additional module is added in the flow without any connectors yet, as shown in the picture below. What are your opinons? Thank you.

Stories to Tell
Taking down names, naughty and nice, checking not once but twice, but twice. Automating with Make, my lists to share - stories about dragons and heroes that care. Teaching and learning ways of the wise, to shorten the process as time surely flies. What wonders of creation we all get to see, some from Jake, some from Libra, but not yet from me. My first day of Skool has been so much fun, but now is my time to crawl, stand up, and run. Not to the finish line for no trophy will do, but to understand better, each of you. So happy to meet you!

Intro
hello community
I'm Theresa - based in Southern California, I'm a solopreuneur who splits my "work" time between my ecommerce business selling one-of-a-kind vintage items and crisis consulting work. Like I'm sure many of you feel, I'm here because I feel a little bit of FOMO being "left behind" in this AI and automation race, and being a tech zero training-wise (having majored in English/Linguistics and my formal corporate career being in crisis management), my automation skills were only "raised" by grappling with Gemini/ChatGPT/DeepSeek/Claude using automation tools like Make/Zapier (and that's not always fun - LLMs don't always get it right, as many of you might know, so, lots of trial and error). I'm also here because I wonder if there might be a fit for my time with something overlapping with automation/AI as a third business prospect, just not sure what that would be. I was mainly drawn to Jake's channel on YouTube because of the straightforward no-BS approach to his content compared to other influencers, and I'm looking forward to growing my knowledge and skills in this community. Looking forward to the connects ❤️

Hey Theresa! 👋 Love the honest "tech zero" approach - your English/Linguistics background is actually perfect for AI (it's all about communication!). The vintage ecommerce + crisis consulting combo sounds like excellent training for navigating AI's trial-and-error world 😅 Your crisis management skills could be gold in AI consulting - lots of businesses need someone who can bridge "cool AI tool" with "actual problem solved." Welcome to the community!
