Confused, sore and numb when cycling
Hi there, I am three bike fits in (including a physio style fit) - I continue to struggle with comfort. In the main the issues are perenial pain and sitbone discomfort. Recently I am suffering with a numb right leg (from inner thigh, down through calf and foot) when cycling on any sort of incline. I am looking for really any advice, and to understand if my confusion and discomfort is unusual! I am now using a selle smp well s saddle (slight comfort improvement) I wear lake shoes with spd sl cleats and sidi high arch support insoles (shoes were fitted professionally) The numb leg really only started several winter indoor cycling sessions in, following my last bike fit which saw me have 20mm pedal externders added and a clear wedge added on my right hand side shoe. Inner knee pain on the right side is how it started. This resulted in me finally I removed the cleat wedge and extenders and raising my saddle height very slightly. Knee pain went but now I am left with this numbness. Sit bones remain pretty sensitive. I have been riding seriously for about three years - and saddle sores and discomfort started around a year ago. I strength train regularly, and maintain good flexibility. Reluctant to spend on another fit - but I am slightly lost as to where to start or whether this can be sorted. Anyone else experienced numbness on one side?
