LDS theology question
A thought from the discussion last night. Our LDS friends kept mentioning James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." But it seems to me that if they are interpreting that verse correctly, then there's really no need for the whole rest of the Bible. Do you see what I mean?

@Aaron Yost That's interesting. So the way they are interpreting the James passage is made more explicit in the Book of Mormon. But there, it seems to be saying that you're asking God to *confirm* what you're receiving. I guess that's a little different from just asking Him to directly guide you into all truth.
