🚨 Premium Live Cancellation
I'm very sorry for the short notice, but i need to cancel our live today. I haven't been feeling well since the weekend, and i was hoping i would be up to it, but i'm really not, and i don't want to only put in a half effort. I know I haven't been as present as i usually am within the community this week, and for that i apologize. Vending for 3 days over the weekend has caused my fibro to flare up more than i anticipated, and i've picked up a cold virus on top of that. I need to take some time to look after myself and feel better. I will try to keep up with conversations as i'm able. I appreciate everyone's understanding more than you know, and i promise to make it up to everyone once i'm feeling better.

@Chloe-louise Mason Agreed, Chloe. It’s good to see people giving Donna room to rest without making her feel she has to apologize for it. A supportive community needs room for that too.

@Donna Conrad You're welcome, Donna. Wishing you some good rest and an easier day.
Pagan Music
@Chloe-louise Mason shared one of her favorite bands with me the other day, and it got me to thinking.. Who is your favorite Pagan singer/band? Share your favorite song below.

Aline, thanks for naming those bands. I haven’t listened to either yet. Is there one Luna Santa song you’d choose as an introduction? I enjoy finding music through the people who love it.
What does Paganism mean to you?
Paganism is an Experiential Spiritual Path. What that means is, you only learn and understand things on deeper levels by doing and experiencing them for yourself. Someone can teach everything they know about meditation, but you don't truly understand it until you "experience" it for yourself. The same can be said of almost all of the concepts within Pagan spirituality and practice. You don't know what ritual is like, until you've done it. You can learn everything about a deity, but you don't truly understand them until you've spent time creating a relationship with them. Getting to know them on a deeper level through ritual, meditation etc. Because of this experiential aspect of Paganism, two people could study and do all the exact same things and still end up with different understandings and experiences. There's a saying, "Ask twelve Pagans a question, and you'll get thirteen answers". This makes being Pagan a very personal and sacred thing to each person who walks it's path. Almost every Pagan that I have asked, "What was finding Paganism like for you?", the answers were always in the same thread: "It was like finally coming home." "It's just what i've always believed/felt, i just didn't know it was an actual thing." What does Paganism mean to you? How did you first learn about Paganism? Where are you on your path, and where would you like to go?

Emma, the canning and preserving part of your comment caught my attention. I’m learning to cook, and I enjoy how food connects with the season. What do you most look forward to preserving in the fall?
Book Club
Once again, I apologise for being behind on the Book Club stuff. Our next reading sections are: Lesson Three - Tools, Clothing and Names Lesson Four - Getting Started Since it's already Tuesday, I'll post discussion threads early next week, but please feel free to post anything you'd like to discuss as well.

Donna, thank you for laying out the next reading sections. The tools, clothing, and names topic interests me from a design and symbolism perspective. As a beginner, I’d appreciate knowing whether there’s a particular term people commonly misunderstand in that section.

No rush, Donna. I appreciate you taking another look rather than guessing from memory. Thanks for keeping the discussion going.
Learning the story behind a symbol
The history and book discussions here make me curious about how symbols change meaning across time. I studied fine art, so I’m interested in the details we can overlook when we recognize a shape but don’t know its story. I’m a beginner with pagan traditions and would rather ask than assume. Was there a symbol, seasonal custom, or term whose history surprised you when you first learned it? What helped you understand it better? I’d appreciate a starting point from your own learning experience.

@Donna Conrad Thank you, Donna. I appreciate you explaining what changed in your understanding as you studied. It reminds me to ask which time, place, and tradition a source is discussing before assuming one interpretation covers everything. Was there a particular book or museum resource that helped you learn about the pentacle?

Thanks, Hannah. That’s why I want to learn the context rather than stop at recognizing the shape. The same image can invite very different readings. And Donna, I appreciate hearing how much having a person to learn from helped you when resources were harder to find.
