☀️🩷✈️ Why This Community Exists 🏠💚👋
Spending some time here? Your life just got WAY skooler. 1. LIVING + TRAVEL PERKS - Living here? find collabs and team mates. Traveling through? You now a welcome committee! 2. BE WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN URSELF - Skool is fun online, but IRL? It hits different. Find + connect with nearby skooligans! 3. PLAN & JOIN LOCAL IRL EVENTS - Coworking, rooftop masterminds — it all starts here. Wanna host something? Tag your Mayor. See when the next event is @ goosify.io! (But the party DOESNT end when the Goose team isn't there!)

Hi Goose, I’m originally from Denver and now in Tennessee. The point about having a welcome committee when you travel back appealed to me. Is there a regular kind of gathering that helps a first-time attendee get to know people without already knowing the group?

@Skye Salley Skye, I’m originally from Denver and now in Tennessee, so your Colorado guiding work caught my eye. What do you find helps people settle into a group trip when most of them haven’t met before? Getting people comfortable with each other seems like a big part of the experience.
Goose's Content Assignment
Yesterday's IRL was more than just hanging out. @Goose Dunlavey gave us an assignment. We were to film content for our socials explaining... 1. A success 2. A failure 3. A story I got kind of lost on the story part, but success & failure I did pretty good. What do you think? And who else got a piece of content for their socials?

Chris, that three-part assignment gives people something concrete to start with. For the story part, would a small moment when something changed count, rather than trying to tell the whole history? I'm learning how to make my own explanations less sprawling, so that part of the assignment interests me.

@Chris Jeub Thanks, Chris. I missed your answer earlier. That gives the story a clear turning point: the same piece of land, but a different way of seeing its use. Much easier to follow than trying to squeeze the whole journey into one clip. Appreciate the example.

Deborah, good to see another gathering taking shape so quickly. I’m originally from Denver and now in Spring Hill, Tennessee, so I’m cheering from a distance. Are you keeping this one as an open social get-together, or adding time for people to share what they’re building?

Thanks, Deborah. A chance to hear what everyone’s actually building should make the introductions a lot more useful. Glad you’re making room for that alongside the social side. Hope you get a good turnout.

Jim, a short build session sounds useful if everyone leaves with one small thing that works. I'd set the finish line before opening the tools: one form, one working follow-up, or one page somebody else can try. I'm originally from Denver and now in Spring Hill, Tennessee, so I'm following from a distance. Would your format pair beginners with experienced builders, or have everyone bring their own project?

Then I hope it's a good first one, Sybil! You were already making someone else feel welcome before you'd even been to a meetup yourself. That's a thoughtful way to start. I'll be cheering you all on from Tennessee.
