Actors Wisdom for Wednesdays!
This is a reminder that staying playful keeps us creatively alive. The moment we stop being curious, taking risks, improvising, and finding joy in the artists work, we begin to lose the very spark that makes great performances possible. In short: An actor's youth isn't measured by age, it's measured by their willingness to keep playing. Let's play on!

@Betinho Soares Betinho, what helps you get into that state of play before a scene? I’m a beginner on the acting side, and I can catch myself getting so busy trying to do it correctly that I lose the fun of it.
Actors Wisdom for Wednesdays!
The Triple C Effect: consistency, credibility and connection. Showing up consistently builds trust, credibility gives people confidence in what you offer, and strong connections create opportunities and lasting relationships. Together, these three elements turn good intentions into real results and long term impact.

Guy, the consistency part is something I can turn into a small practice habit while I'm learning. Ten minutes on one scene seems more useful than waiting until I feel ready for a perfect take. For a beginner, would you repeat the same scene for a week or change it once one specific adjustment starts working?
ACTING REBELS — I WANT YOUR HONEST OPINION
We've now got almost 260 actors in this community, and I want to make sure I'm actually giving you what you need. I've shared videos, advice, resources and hosted the Sunday Zooms but I don't want to simply keep telling you what I think you need. I want to hear from you. So I've put together a very short questionnaire. It should take no more than 3 minutes. And I’d really appreciate your answer: 1. What is the single biggest challenge you're facing in your acting career right now? 2. If you could get help with ONE thing inside Acting Rebels, what would it be? 3. Which areas would you find most useful? - Auditions & self tapes - Finding an agent - Getting more auditions - Personal branding - Social media - Creating your own work - Networking - Finding collaborators - Confidence & mindset - Understanding the business of acting - Making money between jobs - Other: _______ 4. What's stopping you from attending the Sunday Zoom sessions? - Time doesn't work - Sunday isn't convenient - I forget about them - I'm not sure what I'll get from attending - I don't like Zoom - I'd rather ask questions in the community - I don't currently have any questions - Other: _______ 5. What would make you want to come back to Acting Rebels every fortnight? 6. Would you be interested in smaller group sessions or workshops around specific topics? 7. Complete this sentence: "If Acting Rebels could help me ________, it would make a real difference to my career." And finally... Would you be interested in actively connecting with other actors in the community to collaborate, practise, create content or make films together? Be brutally honest. This isn't about telling me what you think I want to hear. I want to build Acting Rebels around what YOU actually need. If you can message me directly to the questions above that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Guy

Rose, I am reading back through the older discussions. Have you found a more useful way to choose auditions since August? I am a beginner on the acting side, and I would be interested to hear whether narrowing the types of roles helped, or whether finding the right places to look is still the main challenge.
Location scouting
Hi everyone, I am looking for a rehearsal space with a capacity of 15 for 6-8 hrs for a 1 day shoot, it's for a short Film this Sunday 25th October. My budget is £100, does anyone have any recommendations or connections ? please DM me if you have any recommendations.

Anthony, which city or area are you looking in? Also, does the space need to be quiet enough to record dialogue, or is it mainly for rehearsal? Those details might help someone here point you toward a suitable room for Sunday.

Thanks, Anthony. That helps. I’m in Tennessee, so I don’t have a London venue connection to send you. I’d update the main post with November 1 or 8, quiet dialogue recording and natural light so people see the current brief. Is the £100 still the total budget, and which parts of London could the team travel to?
Actors Thoughts for Thursdays!
Great acting doesn't come from simply reciting lines or saying the words correctly. The real performance comes from our imagination, emotions, experiences and unique interpretation of the character. The script is just the blueprint; We are what brings it to life. In other words: the magic isn't on the page, it's in the actor.

The blueprint comparison gives me a way into this, Guy. The same sentence, “You’re early,” could be a welcome, an accusation, or a warning. Getting the words right doesn’t choose which one is happening. As a beginner, would you start by deciding what the speaker wants from the other person, then let the delivery follow?
