Most Fathers provide. Few Fathers prepare. Sons Remember is about the purposeful building of Sons into their Manhood - before it’s too late.

Think of a recent moment where your son watched you handle something hard.
Maybe it was a stressful day, a disagreement, or a disappointment. What do you think he walked away believing about how men handle hard things?

@Jon Hord that’s incredible - that he saw you explain why it was so hard for you. I will start doing this as I recently found out, how damaging it can be, in NOT doing this. Worst part is - I found out about it via a different child it affected. And I had to dig for the info. It would’ve never come up and it was actually a big deal. I’m learning that sometimes it’s the conversations we don’t have - that affects our children just as much as the ones we do have.
Coffee Hour (actually 1/2 hr) Topic - Masculinity
Re: Masculinity “What does it mean to raise a good man right now - and does that definition look different than 20 years ago?” (You missed a good one…I interviewed myself. But I forgot to push record otherwise, I would’ve shared the in depth conversation 🤪)

That’s a great pic @Christopher Whitehead-Baines! Kai is absolutely my favorite human as well ❤️❤️❤️
What's your fondest memory with your Father?
Mine was playing golf with him. Doing something together seemed to be our thing vs. talking and connecting in a more emotional manner. I do wonder how much closer (figuratively since he's in the Philippines) we'd be - had we had more meaningful conversations. Good news is, I nudged him into opening up/being a much more present Grand and Great Grandfather now!

Thanks for sharing @Will and Megan Hay! I'm going to do this with my Son(s) tonight as it's been a few years since I've done so. I'm a pretty competitive guy/Dad but there's only one problem...one of my Sons is actually a professional eSports player!

🛠️ The "Teach Me Something" Challenge
I had seen what seemed to be a father & son, in my neighborhood, changing a tire together. I can't remember the last time I saw this - except for when I taught my sons how to change a tire. And it inspired me. My goal is to teach my son this week something/anything that will be useful...even if rarely needed. I think it'd be badass for all of us to make the attempt to do some version of this. It may incite eyerolls or a "Why do I need to know this?" But it's the memory that will matter. If you have a favorite recipe, hobby, skill that your son may not know you have, etc. - do it with him and report back what happens. And I'll do the same! (Picture is a bonus)

@Chris Parks yeah, we were tasked with grass, leaves, snow, etc. like we were mini farmers lol. That’s awesome - that you had him doing lawn work bro. It’ll be a memory for him I’m sure!
