Afraid to lean in sharp corners
@Daniel Tolomei Today I was driving on a road 70km/h, and I needed to take a sharp 90 degree turn to a sideroad. I was focusing on my mirror to the traffic behind me and for Some Reason I had my clutch Pulled IN … while trying to turn right, i started panicking , tried front brake , then i realised my clutch was pulled in and i released it … and i almost hit the left curb (the spacer in between 2 roads) and almost fell… somehow i managed it and did not fall but it really annoys me that I am not able to just take this turn …. I think I am Maybe afraid to let the bike lean, afraid to fall over ? I have attached A photo of the situation , what speed should u take such corner safely ?

@Chris Bennett Thank you for your kind and clear response ! I’m going to do that ! Practice in parking lot and on calm streets. I also think I need to trust the bike that it wont fall over 😅
Adjustment of levers ?
I was wondering if there is Some kind of rule on how the levers (brake and clutch) need to be positioned ? Or should I just leave it as the bike was delivered ?

Little desperate Beginner Technique questions // Difference parking lot<->Real traffic
Today was my first ride again since a couple of weeks due to the snow and ice on the roads here in Belgium lately. As a recently new rider i don't have much experience except from my driving lessons for a 125cc and the practices from Dan (Smartridingdrills). I practiced in a parking lot and there i do am able to make the corners, focus, do the right movements, BUT once i get in traffic and i need to do some maneuvers at intersections i kind of feel lost sometimes, and i think it has to do with couple of things - I dont know in what gear i need to be before making a turn, i sometimes downshift but then i slow down to much, followed by increasing throttle, what makes a instable movement of the bike - I dont know exactly if you slow down before an intersection if you downshift one by one, releasing the clutch in between, or keep the clutch pressed in and downshift to 1while braking ? - - I really want to improve my driving and be able to drive smoothly all the time, but i dont know where to start ?

Homemade "Cones" for Extra Practice
If anyone wasn't aware, tennis balls cut in half make for great "cones" to use as practice in parking lots. If you ever feel like setting up more advanced drills for yourself, they work great. They are... Cheap Light weight Bright (easy to see) Stable on the ground Easy to make Fit in saddlebags Safe to run over on accident Won't break easily Just be sure to buy DDFM's Drill book and cones first... THEN, supplement with chopped tennis balls.

@Chris Bennett Great tip ! thank you
Direct Steering VS countersteering slow speed
What is actually the proper method for slow speed cornering under 30km/h ? Some ppl tell me that under 30km/h you need to direct steer, and above you should use countersteering. Other people told me I should always countersteer (what I’m doing right now) but I am wondering if maybe that is the issue of why I’m sometimes not taking my turns correctly?

@Andy Torrez thank you ! I’m going to try that out ! 😍 with counterweight u mean for example when you turn to the right and the bike leans to the right , instead of your body also leaning to the right you let the bike “roll” under you while remaining kind of upright ?
