Install Now: Chrome and Firefox updates fix serious security flaws
On October 27, Google issued a new Stable channel update for Chrome. Most users are on Chrome’s Stable channel. The desktop update brings Chrome to versions 156.0.8078.73/.74 for Windows and Mac and 156.0.8078.73 for Linux. The update includes 52 security fixes, including four rated Critical. On the same day, Mozilla (Firefox) issued Security Advisory 2026-118, which fixes 167 vulnerabilities. Firefox 159 also introduces several new features. Both updates will roll out over the coming days and weeks. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 The easiest option is to allow Chrome to update automatically. But you can end up lagging behind on updates if you never close your browser or if something goes wrong, such as an extension preventing the update. If you don’t want to wait for the rollout to reach you, manually updating is easy. Open About Google Chrome from Chrome’s settings or Help menu. Chrome will check for updates. If one is available, click Relaunch to apply it (see first image below). Chrome version 156.0.8078.74 or later is the up to date version. You can find an explanation of the version numbering system and step-by-step instructions in this guide: How to update Chrome on every operating system. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝘅 To update Firefox, open the browser and click the menu button at the right side of the Firefox toolbar, then go to Help and select About Firefox. The About Mozilla Firefox window will open. Firefox will automatically check for updates. If one is available, it will be downloaded. Once done, you’ll be prompted to click Relaunch. After Firefox restarts, it will be up to date (see second image). 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 These Chrome and Firefox updates address a familiar problem: browser code mishandling memory while processing web content. Both releases fix use-after-free vulnerabilities, including flaws in page layout, JavaScript processing, and SVG graphics.

AI Agents Are Getting Smarter. But Are We Giving Them Too Much Freedom?
For years, the big promise of automation has been simple. Get software to do the boring stuff so we can concentrate on more important things. And I'm all for that! 👍 But AI agents are taking automation into completely new territory. We're no longer talking about software that simply follows a predefined set of instructions. We're talking about AI that can make decisions, browse websites, use tools and take actions on our behalf. And that's where things get interesting... ...and potentially a little worrying. 😬 Recent reports about AI agent testing have raised concerns about systems taking actions that weren't intended or authorized. Now imagine giving an AI agent access to your online business. It could potentially manage your emails, update your website, interact with customers or run marketing campaigns. Sounds fantastic! Until it sends the wrong email to 5,000 subscribers, changes something it shouldn't or makes a decision that costs you money. Here's the problem: AI agents can be incredibly capable without being consistently reliable. And there's a big difference between trusting an AI to draft an email and trusting it to send that email to your entire list. My approach would be simple: ✅ Let AI handle research, drafting and repetitive tasks. ✅ Give agents access only to the tools and information they actually need. ✅ Require human approval before sending messages, spending money or making important changes. ✅ Keep activity logs so you can see what an agent has done. ✅ Test everything on a small scale before giving an agent more responsibility. I'm excited about where AI agents are heading. But after nearly 40 years working with computers, I've learned one thing... ...just because software can do something doesn't mean you should let it do it unsupervised. 😂 The smartest AI-powered business won't necessarily be the one with the most automation. It might be the one that knows when a human should stay in control. 💬 Would you trust an AI agent to run parts of your online business without supervision? Or would you insist on approving everything first?

@Hirahara Tsugumi It seems like AI is starting to break away from our control and the race to be the company that builds the first super-intelligent AI is outweighing any safety concerns that have been raised by Godfather of AI, Geoffrey Hinton among others. I love using AI as it makes so many things so much easier and less time-consuming. But given that AIs have managed to break out the sandboxes they're supposed to be confined to, don't you think that bodes badly for us to be able to keep it under control? A friend at a managerial IT level (and his team) spent all of last week firefighting a hack attack that used AI. To be clear, it was a human hacking group using AI as a tool rather than AI attempting a hack on its own volition (as in the Hugging Face attack). As quickly as they plugged one security hole, the AI found another. It was the speed with which it discovered vulnerabilities in systems that kept them busy 24/7 (working in shifts). Eventually, they had no choice but to take their system offline as people were stating o get frazzled and burned out. And this wasn't the only company under attack. It never made the mainstream news here so very few know about it. So now, besides defending against regular human hackers, companies now have to defend against AI. I'd argue that we humans have already begun to lose control over AI. Politicians are the least qualified people to make decisions on how AI is managed. And the CEOs of the AI companies are sociopaths (or psychopaths) who are terrified that some other company will beat them to building a super-intelligent AI because they all think their competitors do not have humanity's best interests at heart! Since you're working in the world of AI, what's your take as an insider on all of this?
Critical PHP Flaws: What To Watch For And What To Update
By now, you've probably heard about the flaws that AI found in PHP, the programming language that 70% of the internet runs on. And that many company and government pages have been temporarily shut down to prevent them from being hacked. Emergency security updates are now available for two critical vulnerabilities in PHP. Known as PHP2Shell, these flaws could let attackers run malicious code on an affected server without logging in. They could steal business data, change website content, or use a trusted website to target visitors with phishing pages and malicious downloads. If you’re a website visitor: - Some websites may temporarily go offline while they are patched. - Watch for unexpected content, downloads, or redirects, and repeated login requests, even on familiar sites. - If something looks wrong, leave the page. - You don't need to install PHP updates on your own device. If you’re a website owner: - Ask your hosting or IT provider to confirm PHP fixes are installed, not just scheduled, across all your websites and applications. - If they can’t patch immediately, ask whether affected services should temporarily be taken offline. - If you manage your own servers, follow PHP’s update instructions. - Using unsupported PHP? Check for a vendor fix or upgrade to a supported version. MalwareBytes have more information about PHP2Shell and the security updates here.

😂 This Isn't Netflix. You're Allowed to Talk Back!
We've now got 𝟭𝟵 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 here in AI Commissions Lab, covering AI, affiliate marketing, traffic generation and plenty more. Surely you've got a question or two? 😁 Maybe there's something in one of the courses you don't quite understand. Perhaps you're struggling to get traffic to an offer, wondering which AI tools are worth using, or just trying to figure out where to start. 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿! I didn't create this group just so I could post messages and everyone else could sit quietly reading them. I'd love to see members asking questions, sharing experiences, offering suggestions and helping each other out. Nobody knows everything. I've been working online since 1998, and I'm still learning new things! And you don't need to be an expert to contribute. You might know a useful trick, have discovered a handy tool, or learned something the hard way that could save another member hours of frustration. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. A few simple ground rules: ✅ Keep posts relevant to AI, affiliate marketing or online business. ✅ Be friendly, helpful and respectful of other members. ❌ No self-promotion, affiliate links or trying to recruit members into other opportunities. That will get you removed from the group. Other than that, the floor is yours! New Events Added To The Weekly Calendar
I've updated the Calendar with some new events this month: 1. There are now 2 webinars each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays about the MyDailyImpact opportunity. These are typically 20-25 minutes long and introduce you to what it's all about. 2. There is now one webinar each Thursday presented by GVO owner, Joel Therien. GVO is the umbrella company for products like GotBackup, SendShark, MyDailyImpact, NowLifetyle, MemoryPalace and others. In these webinars, Joel provides announcements on product upgrades, new products and then the webinar is opened to a Q&A with attendees asking questions about any of the products, commission structures, etc. This is not a webinar with a pitch at the end. 3. On October 29th, there will be a webinar about how to earn from having a TikTok shop. I'm also continuing to add videos to the Gemini AI Training section (to the Answer Engine Optimization With Gemini module). ~ Gary
