If indeed it snowed in Eastbourne I would be thoroughly bemused and would leave the snow, it will not be there for long. As to mowing the lawn? Well, I believe in making hay! Now to the Saffa Gwynne... with all the hosepipe bans, I am surprised if you have any lawns that need mowing. If I decided to move back I would definitely get an electric mower, it will be like a lottery, if the grass has miraculously grown to any length and is green, then the chances of load shedding would certainly reduce my risk of having to mow the lawn.

One of the great things about loving nature and having spent years watching and being around ostriches is getting to know them. That old myth about ostriches burying their heads in the sand likely began because of how they behave when nesting or sensing danger. When an ostrich feels threatened, it often lowers its long neck and head flat against the ground to blend in with the terrain—especially in the shimmering heat of the savannah. From a distance, it can look as though the bird’s head has disappeared beneath the sand. Another interesting observation: Ostriches dig shallow pits for their eggs and frequently lean down to turn or rearrange them with their beaks. Observers who saw this from afar might have assumed the birds were “burying” their heads. I can assure you, they are not easy to frighten as they are bold.
