We had our has team tournament yesterday. It was a 11v11 knockout tournament. There were 4 teams. This was also selection trials for our school team. I was in blue team, we had to play red in the semis. They were the favourites to win this tournament. It was one of the most exciting games of football I have ever played. The first half ended 0-0. In the second half a misplaced header from our cb found the opposing teams attacker 1 on 1 against our keeper which he scored. The score was 1-0. We missed many corners, and chances. There was 3 minutes left when we got a corner kick which came right to our strikers legs but the keeper made a great dive to save it, we got another corner from this save. Our winger took it quickly, a slight touch to the second post by our striker and goal by our captain. It was a last minute equaliser. He got a bit too energetic and removed his shirt and got his second yellow of the game🫢. The game went to penalties. Our keeper saved their first pen and we scored. I took the second penalty for our team, and scored in the top right corner. My penalties have been pretty good in the last year scoring 4/5. We won the penalties 3-2. We beat the favourites!!! The finals was against an easier team. But the time was reduced and we couldn't score. It went to pens again and I couldn't take it this time because our coach had told that we have to give playing time to everyone because it was school team trials. They didn't have enough time to sub me back in. The penalties were tied and went on for a few extra kicks. Our goalkeeper saves many pens and was like Emi Martinez in the world cup. It was time for dispersal and our coach told we have to do a coin toss to decide the winner. Both teams were not happy about this decision. We won the coin toss, but we have asked our coaches for a rematch as this is an unfair way to end a tournament. The school teams were announced and I got into A team. I am really happy 😊.
