I may have been seeking mystical experiences. And I had a glimpse of something very profound on different occasions. But these experiences didn’t last, and it didn’t leave me transformed. So my questions is, are you seeking experiences or are you seeking to be transformed? Be honest. Now, I can say that I’m truly looking for transformation. I want to turn my life around by doing yogic practice or “sadhana”.

You do stuff for other people over and over and most never even think to do anything for you to help you out. Most of the time are not even actually grateful or appreciative when you spend your finite time and your finances assisting them. You go into it knowing full well it is always a one sided relationship and yet you still feel compelled to help them out because of some sense of duty or something. On top of that, constantly seeing so many people get ahead in life by stepping on others, being dishonest, deceptive, manipulative or even downright malicious. While you struggle to make ends meet despite working so hard and honestly for so long. After a while you either begin to become indifferent and apathetic or you listen to that anger and discontent that is bubbling just below the surface and you become malicious and dishonest as well. I don’t really believe anymore that anyone in a modernized country makes it out of this life remaining as a loving and kind person. Those born at the top are spoiled, entitled and ultimately see those below them as trash and their problems as petty and inconsequential. Those born at the bottom will constantly fight for scraps among each other and harbor hatred and distrust for the elite born into wealth. Every day that I actually have free time to sit and think about the state of everything here on our small planet, the more I am grateful that the promise of death is an eventuality no matter what happens in between.
