Motivation is cheap. Execution changes your life.
I see too many operators waiting to ā€œfeelā€ like doing the work. They wait for the perfect morning, the perfect team, or the perfect market conditions to finally start scaling. Let me tell you a hard truth: The perfect time is a lie told by people who are afraid to fail. When I was building Action Plumbing from a single van to a $100M empire, there were plenty of mornings the alarm went off at 4:00 AM and I didn’t want to get up. My body was tired. The stress was heavy. But I didn’t negotiate with myself. Discipline isn’t about being a robot. It’s about having a WHY that is bigger than your comfort. I don’t put in the work just to hit a revenue target. I put in the work to be the man my family deserves. I put in the work to be the leader my team needs. I put in the work because God didn’t give me this vision just to play it safe. If you are soft on yourself, your team will be soft. If you let standards slip in your own life, they will slip in your business. Iron sharpens iron. Stop waiting for motivation. Set your non-negotiables and execute them every single day. What is the one non-negotiable you are committing to today?

@Kendra Alien are you in the trades?
I talk to a lot of operators who tell me they are grinding 80 hours a week ā€œfor their family.ā€
They miss dinners. They miss baseball games. They miss the small moments because they are too busy putting out fires in their business. They think that once they hit that next revenue milestone, they’ll finally have the time to be present. Let me tell you a hard truth: Your kids don’t care about your profit margins. They care about your presence. When I was scaling Action Plumbing, it was easy to get consumed by the chaos. The phone never stopped ringing. But I realized that if I built a $100M empire and lost my family in the process, I didn’t build anything at all. I just failed with a bigger bank account. You have to protect your time. You have to build systems and develop leaders so that your business can run without you. That is the only way you move from being a prisoner to your business to being a true CEO. I don’t just want to be known as the guy who built a massive home services company. I want to be known as a man who honored God, loved his wife, and showed up for his kids. Your business is a vehicle to provide for your family, not a replacement for you. Are you building a business that serves your family, or a business that steals you from them?

Know your WHY. Respect your time
Everyone talks about discipline But the truth is… discipline gets a lot easier when your WHY is bigger than your comfort There are plenty of mornings that alarm goes off at 4:00 AM and my first thought is ā€œman… I could stay in this bed.ā€ It’s warm It’s quiet Nobody would know if I slept another hour But I know why I get up I’m not just going to the gym I’m working on becoming the man my family deserves The leader my team needs And the man my future requires Because here’s the reality… Time is the one thing you never get back You can lose money and make it again You can lose a deal and close the next one You can even lose a business and build another But time? Once it’s gone, it’s gone Every early morning Every workout Every sacrifice That’s all an investment into the life we’re building For me the why is simple My family My mission The people counting on me That’s why when the alarm goes off… I get up Comfort doesn’t build anything Purpose does Let me ask you something? What’s your WHY that gets you up when you don’t feel like it?
