I've been working on an EP and im thinking about doing a limited run of some CDs. (50 total). I'd likely drop it before the EP hits DSP to give an exclusive feel and really sell it as an art piece. I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing a physical drop. Did you end up with a bunch of overhead? I love to buy CDs and Vinyl and it seems like over the last few years they have been making a comeback for music enthusiasts. Im curious to hear y'all thoughts on this, do you think physicals are viable in 2023?
@Trey Broomfield I'm probably not in the primary demographic but I personally like physical units- especially if they are signed and I love vinyl. it's either psycological in a nostalgic sense or maybe I'm just old school. the sleve with artwork might have something do with it also. I'd be interested to hear what @Jean Paul has to say about it...
@Larayne Larayne without a doubt it's mentoring for me. I learned things about myself that I would not have otherwise known and the sense of accomplihment that I experience when I see my influence having a positive impact on somebody's life or work...
@Jean Paul you're speaking my language. I like dveloping relationships but I lean toward the transaction side of the spectrum and not just in a monetary sense- like with this exchange...
