What was your favourite read in April?
Mine was The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker. Great characters and a really entertaining, complex plot β€” with fascinating folklore elements β€” that came together wonderfully at the end. Yours?

@Zena Ryder I agree. Follett is too strict on that in my view - especially when we are talking about people for hundreds of years ago. I love Follett though. Kearsley isn’t as well known of course, but an exceptional author

@Zena Ryder I hope you read some Kearsley and let me know what you thinks. I actually met her at the Surrey International Writers conference (and Diana Galberdon)
What are you reading this weekend?
Of course, it doesn't have to be historical fiction, although mine happens to be HF: The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn. I'm loving it so far (about halfway through).

@Zena Ryder Just getting into it and good so far. Interesting face pace and provocative start and now getting into the back story in chapter 3

Hi everyone. I moved to Kelowna three years ago. Professionally I work as a labour mediator. I’ve self published two fictional novels. Like everyone on here I’m sure I’m an avid reader. I also run regularly and enjoy backcountry hiking and kayaking. I have 5 adult children who all live on their own (3 are married)
