The first rule of TAPE CLUB is that... we talk about TAPE CLUB. Congrats on finding the destination for actors to ace the one thing we all need to ace: the self tape. Here I host monthly chats about all things industry (the highs, the lows, the long game) which are FREE, and a weekly practice tape session, which is PREMIUM. Weekly sessions include diving into scenes, working out what they want from you and then nailing it. It's an instinctive, incisive practice designed to cut through to the good stuff and get you good at making sharp choices in the moment. Monthly chats are a more languid affair. And there we have it. After about three weeks of modelling, refining, rebranding, overhauling and now finally settling on - I think I've worked out what I'm actually doing on here. Wanted to jump on to say thank you to all of you who've followed, joined and engaged in the setting up of this *new thing* - your presence is so much appreciated. I think it takes a while to work stuff like this out, but I think I've landed now on something to offer that suits the online setting, my skills and the community of actors I want to build. You can read all about it in the About section, but it's a screen skill workshop - still happening weekly - that people can come along to and tune up their skills on camera. Alongside is still the monthly industry chat. It took a while, but it's good to be in a place where what I'm doing on here has legs, and could be sustainable over time. Taping is such an important part of acting nowadays, and so many people hate it, so I hope I can offer something useful after having done about a million (and counting!) of them. Hasta la vista baby!
