Hello and lovely to meet you all!! I was inspired to join the Pen Pal Cafe because I used to have a pen pal back in 2nd grade. My best friend Mijin moved from Austin TX back to her home country of South Korea and we traded 2 letters to each other and then it kind of fizzled out. I'm sad that it didn't last and in fact, I had quite forgotten it until writing this very intro, but that was my first foray into being a pen pal! I do love getting handwritten cards from time to time, so I thought this would be a nice group to start getting back to that! 😊 A little about me: 💌 Name: Fefe (pronounced "fee fee"). It's actually a nickname for my Chinese real name Feng Fei (which means flying phoenix) 📍 where I'm from: currently living near San Francisco, California. Grew up in Texas! ☕️ My favourite cuppa: I'd have to say a nice jasmine boba tea! ✨ Hobbies: singing Broadway/pop/Disney songs, watercolor painting on my train commute, and trying to get my Skool group off the ground (I'm helping pregnant entrepreneurs plan for their maternity leave so they can take time off to be with their baby without stressing over their business) I'm looking forward to participating in my first exchange soon! 😄

Blue ink became the preferred colour for letter writing because it was easier to distinguish from printed black text and tended to fade less over time. That's one reason so many treasured old letters are still beautifully readable today. 🤔 Question: What's your go-to pen colour when writing a letter?

I haven’t used a physical stamp in years. When I’m ready to send my pen pal letters, I make a special trip to the Korean post office. But it’s been such a hassle to visit the PO every time I have something to send (especially given my local one takes a freakin’ lunch break and shuts everything down every day 🙄). I finally managed to figure out how to order physical stamps online and have them shipped to me directly. 🥳 Aren’t they beautiful?!
