Starting anything new?
January's end is almost done... What new year's resolution did you set? Did you follow through? Last year I resolved to properly start rebuilding the farmstead...😱🫣. No budget, no savings... Just the plan and ideas from all our years of tinkering and experimenting. From October to today... The hatchery is just about ready to go.... We are building up the Skool community aaaand By Saturday, the YouTube channel posts our very first episode of the docu-series "The Farm That YouTube Built"... Super amped to be sharing this journey with all you guys... 🌓Lets Grow Together 🌱

I have some experience with drastic flooding over the year before last which has made me have some reservations into the rootsystems that can hold when it gets tough. Bed wise. Straw and manure worm beds of some description, chickenwire in hope to retain some mounds from winds that can have green manures/ living mulch to hold it in place.. Much like what's there now before it all dries out. More grasses I think as clovers hasn't taken well neither has lupin. I have a book called 'Feed the Soil' it's got an almanac that has an extensive list of manures for soiltypes and climates.

Yes the market gardening setup is somthing that could be reality but would require a lot of water, it's getting the bales of a quality to put through the animal bedding and work it from there with leftovers when thinking about 100' beds. It's definatly the way to go about it with some ground cover. Thanks for the link, the irrigation is good for citrus tress, washes away aphid sap a vector for sooty mould so i'm leaning toward citrus as a maincrop with some more almonds a few avocado and some pomegranates, pineapple. I want to get some propagules of pineapple from a micropropagation lab so I can grow a lot of them up quite quickly. I'd like a few hundred to put on the riser at the bottom amongst the agave in the perfect world :)
