Anyone else getting locked out of completed lessons when you're ahead of schedule? (CS102 Data Structures)
Hey everyone, I'm currently in the BSCS program (Business and AI pathway) and running ahead of the official weekly schedule. I just ran into a really frustrating platform issue and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this. I recently completed lessons 1–9 on week 1 in CS102: Data Structures and Algorithms, but now the system has completely locked them back up. My usual study habit is to go back through previous modules to review the material, take detailed notes, and build out my own comprehensive study guides. Because they are locked, I can't access any of my past lessons to review for upcoming material. 🤦🏽‍♀️ The system mentioned that because I’m more than a week ahead of schedule, lessons might automatically lock until the official calendar week catches up. But I’m not more than a week ahead of schedule it still week 1, Lesson 10. • Has anyone else who paces ahead run into this "pacing lock"? • If you did, were you able to get Student Services to manually override it and unlock them for note-taking? I already submitted an Academic Services request to try and get them reopened, but I wanted to check if this is a platform-wide setting or just a glitch on my specific dashboard. Appreciate any insights! Side Note: I also posted this on Reddit and received a message immediately after saying “Sorry, this post was removed by Reddits filters.” This is why I don’t participate on Reddit! This is pure transparency and I don’t see anything wrong with the post… 🤦🏽‍♀️

@Maestro Collective I was thinking that it may be a glitch, it weird and you also experienced this because I spoke with another student and theirs is fine. They’re able to go back to previous lessons.

I guess we can all confirm that this is not a glitch but something Maestro failed to update us on. However they were sure to mention the changes in the grading scale… they have been making so many changes without announcing them. I don’t like this about Maestro. It gives the students an unfair advantage unexpectedly leaving us with no explanation which causes doubts and confusion. From laptop changes, strict Reddit posts, mandatory discussion boards, 10 points bonus from 20 points last term, I mean dang the list goes on. Attending school online for students is supposed to give students the opportunity to work on their own schedule leaving it flexible for students who are parents, working a job or two, hasn’t been in school in years etc. I just want to know what possessed them to make this change? It almost feels like we’re being punished for accelerating through the lessons. I still haven’t even heard back from student services. I’m beyond upset about the whole thing.
Laptop?
I tried to ask while ago through reddit, but it said posts about laptops are blocked. Has anyone received their laptop yet? If so what kind do they send and how long did it take?

I want to start by saying how incredibly grateful I am for this scholarship and the opportunity to be part of Maestro. I’m fully committed to this program and to the future I’m building here. I think many of us feel that way, which is why we’re so concerned about the recent shift to the MacBook Neo. It feels like Maestro is trying to keep the "vibe" of the scholarship program positive for prospective students, which I understand. But seeing people get censored on Reddit for talking about the laptop switch has made a lot of us scared to speak up. None of us want to jeopardize our scholarships or tarnish the Maestro brand—we just want to be heard. While the Neo is a sleek device, for those of us in the Computer Science track, the 8GB RAM cap is a serious hurdle. Earlier cohorts received M4/M5 machines with 16GB+, which is the industry standard for the work we’re doing. The moderators have mentioned that our work will be cloud-based, but that creates a massive accessibility gap: • The "On the Move" Constraint: For students like me who live a nomadic or traveling lifestyle, a cloud-dependent workflow isn't always feasible. If we’re in an area with poor connectivity, we need a device that can actually compile and run code offline. • Technical Mastery: We are here to become Systems Architects, Computer Engineers, AI Engineers, Dev Ops etc. We need to learn how to manage local environments (Docker, VMs, local AI models) that 8GB of RAM simply cannot handle efficiently. I’m not sharing this to complain, but because I want Maestro to hear the feedback that actually matters to our success. We want to be the best engineers we can be, and we just need the tools that match the high-level curriculum Maestro provides. What do you guys think? If we stay quiet out of fear, nothing changes. But if we keep the conversation focused on technical requirements and accessibility, we can show Maestro that we’re just looking for the best way to succeed in the program. Has anyone else found their workflow limited by the offline/RAM constraints yet?
Check In All Cohorts!
Recently came to the realization I do not have a space for all the cohorts present in this community, I need every cohort to check in here and please give me the full date including year of your cohort! I may have to add the year to tabs so that we can all have a place to connect with our fellow classmates, Goodmorning guys ! ☀️😎
