Many students often ask me whether they should do dropshipping on Etsy or not. The honest answer is: Etsy does not favor the dropshipping business model, and it is not recommended to rely on it. Etsy prefers sellers who offer original, handmade, or uniquely branded products. That is why I always advise avoiding traditional dropshipping on Etsy. Instead, go for private labeling. Create your own product or source it from a manufacturer, invest in a proper photoshoot, list it on Etsy, and manage delivery yourself. This approach builds trust, brand value, and long-term sustainability. Another better alternative is Print on Demand. Although Print on Demand also falls under a dropshipping-type model, the key difference is that you create the designs yourself. This makes it more acceptable on Etsy. With Print on Demand, you can do two things: Create digital products using your designs Sell physical Print on Demand products using the same designs So, overall, I do not recommend traditional dropshipping on Etsy. Focus on branding, originality, and value creation if you want long-term success.
