Sundays Week in Review
Greetings Gentlemen! How was your week? More importantly how is your Heart? I stumbled upon something interesting the other day where instead of asking someone “how they’re doing?” I asked….”what’s it like to be you?” So I’m gonna try that out here today! Drop in the comments “What it’s like to be you right now?” Feel free to add any color or context along with any reflection on last week and an intention for this week. All Love to Every Man in the Expanse! Let’s Explore!

@Corbin Sellers Peace Corbin, I have been very into physical movement. I trained martial arts for years and when I stopped and got caught up in the work cycle i came across my homie Tah doing his underground fit club! It got me back into training just to train and got me back on my movement journey. I am very aware of what we hold in our bodies and stories tied up in muscle. I have a regular practice and I have a client I train 2-3 times a week. I am a calisthenics guy and like to try different stuff. My goal now is to walk more. I have a low back injury and I work from home and sit for 8-10 hrs in meetings and calls. No bueno! I used to walk a lot more so thats my personal goal.
A Question on Race and Manhood
Let's spark some dialogue here. This is a LOADED and multi-layered question. In my experience Racial dymanics often get glossed over and overlooked in men's work where their are men from many different backgrounds. I'm here for depth. So let's get deep. Do you feel that whatever race(s) you identify as (if you identify as a race at all), have any affect on: 1. How you show up in the world as a man? 2. How you see yourself as a man? 3. How you see other men based upon your ideas of their race(s) in contrast and comparison to yours? 4. How you treat and interact with other men? 5. How you feel you are treated by other men? Feel free to jump in with whatever you have to share on this. I am celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today with some depth. Let's grow.

From someone who has been in different men’s circles. Some where I was the only black man to groups where it is majority black men there is a difference. Yes from a general space we would find similarities and common situations. But no one that doesn’t look like me knows what it’s like to walk through this world like me and there are times that is necessary. Perspective is important, and a different one as lot of times is needed as well as times where a similar experience is also needed. It’s the reason this work matters, as well may all be under this general umbrella of men… the cultural differences and uniqueness that make the individual who they are is a super valuable tool we will need to deconstruct the constructs. Because to the I ones and ones are always more than the title they are given…you are who you are. A great circle will hold that in the highest regard. To be clear I have found great support in all the circles I have participated in. But I can’t front like there isn’t a difference on some level. My bad king I didn’t answer the specific questions lol just wanted to share on the topic. It’s something I have always felt should be discussed and is sometimes overlooked. Give thanks.
