How do you get paid for doing what you love?
For the past 5 years, I tried to monetize my passion. Now, I am getting paid for being the Admin of Synthesizer, a community with over 26K members. We are also #3 in the discovery for Skool, which means every day, more than a thousand people join us. The community is helping educational creators get paid to change the world. If you know me, then you know I always wanted to change the education system, and with this community, I know we can actually do it. In the video below, I break down how I got there and how you can find your dream role in any Skool community, without being stuck in your parents' basement. This was recorded live in Amsterdam and we had an extremely engaging conversation with @Miel Avalon, @Sofiya Pierce, @Daniel Barahona and @Ana Victoria Molina. Here is the link to the document. I am already preparing the presentation for next week, so let me know if you have any specific topic you would like me to explore. Add it to your calendar here. What should I talk about next week?

Congrats, Lukas! In the next video, it would be great if you could share your top three insights/learnings from being an admin here. And with the recent spike in new members, has Synthesizer’s strategy or approach to managing the group changed?
How do you engage your learning community?
During my time in the traditional education system, I was either bored or overwhelmed. That is why I spent most of my time playing video games, because they got me into a flow state. Now I am trying to replicate that for this community. So far, I identified 3 key triggers that make every learning much more fun: - Challenges based on skill levels - Shared goals that everyone can contribute to - Instant feedback from people ahead to help the ones behind I am currently thinking about a shared challenge we can do. But since our shared goal is to have fun, the challenge must also be fun. I am currently thinking of different forms of entertainment. Maybe we can watch a show together or play a game together. We are going to discuss this more during our live call today. In the meantime, you can check out the video below. And then I want to hear from you: How do you engage your learning community?

I find number 1 hard if the desired goal cannot be measured with numbers. This often leads me to set goals that are too high and not really achievable. How would you handle this?
Today we are playing chess
A real community connects members with each other. It’s just another social media feed if you only interact with me. That is why I host game nights every Thursday at 7 pm CET. We play a different game each week, and today, we are playing chess. I know many of you are big chess players. Below, you see @Tales Alves and me playing at the airport of Tallinn. I may amplify the experience and organize tournaments for some friendly competitions. But at Chess.com, we can experiment with different play modes. Ever played 4-player chess? It’s incredibly fun. What games are you excited to play in the future?
