Congratulations, Sarah!!!! Best news ever!!!
Some places hold pieces of our lives 💜
Today was a completely last-minute decision… and somehow turned into one of those days that stays with you 💜 I live in the UK, and like most of us here, I’m very good at moaning about the weather 😅 The rain, the grey skies, the cold… But honestly? I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Today my husband and I decided to take our Rhodesian Ridgeback Kaiser for a walk at Kinver Edge, a beautiful National Trust spot on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire border. My husband grew up there—it was his childhood playground. We got married in Kinver Church nearby, walked those hills when we were courting, later with our two little boys, and with dogs we’ve loved over the years. We then moved away for many years and only came back to the area about five years ago. Even though we now only live around 30 minutes away, somehow we hadn’t been back to Kinver Edge for far too long. The moment we arrived, the memories came flooding back. The bluebells were out, the sunshine was warm (a rare UK miracle 😂), and the views across the English countryside honestly took my breath away. Kinver village sitting amongst the rolling hills looked just as magical as I remembered. For two precious hours, life slowed down. We reminisced about being 18 and falling in love, marrying young, raising our boys, building a life together… and quietly reflected on the fact we both came through cancer after a very challenging couple of years. Last year we celebrated 40 years of marriage. Today just felt… special. Really special. One of those moments where you suddenly feel incredibly grateful for ordinary things that actually aren’t ordinary at all. And to finish the morning, we stumbled across a newly built farm shop café and had the most beautiful breakfast and coffee together 💜 Life can absolutely be challenging. But it’s also full of rewards and beautiful moments—you sometimes just have to pause long enough to notice them. 💜 It made me wonder…Do you have a place that holds special memories for you?

It’s not a place of the past; it’s a place of the present. When my husband and I were ready to buy our home, I messed up the search we had saved (I accidentally expanded it by 10 miles). When I saw this house, I called him and said that I’d found it, and we had to see it that day. It was in the town he’d grown up in, and buying it was a full-circle moment for him. For me, this house and the view brings me peace. Nature surrounds me. My life and my art have completely blossomed.

@Jeanette Stevens it truly has, and I am its caretaker. I know that it will be here long after I am gone, and will hopefully continue to bring peace to someone else. It’s just a magical place. (From the front, it looks like an old barn due to the weathered cedar siding and the fact that there are not any visible windows, but it’s hiding a secret. It sits on the river, and since it’s a delta area, the other side is 8 miles away. The back faces east, so we get the sunrise over the river. One feels like one is in a remote area even though you aren’t.)

Wonderful!!!!
New call time this weekend 🌍
We are shifting things a little so it is easier for our ocean crew to join us this time. The call will now happen between Saturday and Sunday at a new time that should hopefully feel a lot more relaxed for everyone on that side of the world. Have a quick look in your calendar, it should already show the correct time for you wherever you are.📆 Also a small apology for last Friday, I basically did a five minute cameo and disappeared again. This time I am planning to actually stay and hang out 😄 Really looking forward to seeing you all there!

I will be on a weekend girl’s trip, so I am unsure if I will be able to attend this weekend.

I just want to share the fanciest trashcan aka waste paper basket in my possession. 🤪
