5-Month Check-In: Are You On Track?
We're five months into 2026. This is the moment to stop and assess — not with excuses, but with brutal honesty. If you're hitting your goals: What's working? What do you need to keep doing? And what's the next move to level up? If you're not on track: Be real about why. Is it time, focus, fear, or something else? Because if you've had the same goal for years with no real progress, the problem isn't the goal — it's the approach. Every success requires sacrifice. The writers and filmmakers who break through aren't the ones with the most talent. They're the ones who decide what they're willing to give up to get what they want. So tell us — where are you, and what needs to change?

I've been MIA here, but I've made some amazing strides! Im just about finished my script, I'm on the final scene and I'm really excited about it! I was able to volunteer at a Film festival back in March here in Annapolis Maryland and made some really good connections. This past weekend I was able to volunteer at the Washington DC 48hr Film Festival kickoff, and I was able to join a film team that's competing in the festival. I was able to come on as a writer for the team and helped create their script. I've met a couple of DP's who have shown interest in my work and told me that they want to help me film my work whenever I'm ready. As far as goals, I feel like I have exceeded my expectations 😁

Screenwriting Gigs
A Resource I Swear By. For years, I've used Screenwriting Staffing to find paid screenwriting gigs. They share everything from feature assignments to TV staffing opportunities. They connect writers directly with producers, directors, and production companies actively hiring. The free membership provides access to job listings, emailed to you regularly. Note: Make sure to ONLY submit what is requested and follow the website's rules. Keep in mind that some of these gigs are posted on multiple platforms, so send your best samples. If you're serious about landing paid work, this is one of the most direct paths I've found. Check it out: Screenwriting Staffing

My goal has been to do some type of writing everyday. I've been doing very well. Ive been bouncing between working on my script and working on my blog. I'm really proud of the work I've been putting in on my blog. The last time I had posted anything on was April 2025. It feels good to get back to writing.
