StoryTellers, I want to share something that took me too long to learn. I once spent 6 months "stuck" on a script. I tried every productivity hack, every outline method, every writing sprint. Nothing worked. Then I asked myself: "Am I actually stuck, or is this project asking me to be someone I'm not?" Turns out, it was misalignment burnout. The story was technically fine. But it didn't match the writer I was becoming, the themes I actually cared about, the voice I was growing into. The moment I permitted myself to pivot (not quit but pivot), the energy came back. So here's my question for you, StoryTellers: Are you stuck on your project, or are you facing misalignment burnout? And if it's the second one, what's one small way you could realign this project with who you are now, instead of who you were when you started it? Would love to hear where you're at.

This past weekend I participated in the Baltimore 48hour Film Project. I put a team together of 6 people, plus my 13 year old son and I. I directed and co-wrote the film! We're five months into 2026. This is the moment to stop and assess — not with excuses, but with brutal honesty. If you're hitting your goals: What's working? What do you need to keep doing? And what's the next move to level up? If you're not on track: Be real about why. Is it time, focus, fear, or something else? Because if you've had the same goal for years with no real progress, the problem isn't the goal — it's the approach. Every success requires sacrifice. The writers and filmmakers who break through aren't the ones with the most talent. They're the ones who decide what they're willing to give up to get what they want. A Resource I Swear By. For years, I've used Screenwriting Staffing to find paid screenwriting gigs. They share everything from feature assignments to TV staffing opportunities. They connect writers directly with producers, directors, and production companies actively hiring. The free membership provides access to job listings, emailed to you regularly. Note: Make sure to ONLY submit what is requested and follow the website's rules. Keep in mind that some of these gigs are posted on multiple platforms, so send your best samples.
