Sadie, the Story Lady
Has anyone seen how amazing this youtube page is - this wonderful lady brings your books to live. I got hooked and watched like 7 of her books and all of the Doppy Series is on there too. She's new but does such an creative job with her storytelling and the puppets. I'm wondering how she picks her books because they are just so cute and many are from out community here. https://youtube.com/@sadiethestorylady?feature=shared

@Harleigh Manske wow - that’s amazing - thank you. I definitely will.
Grateful for This Creative Community
Just wanted to share a quick update and a thank you 🤍 I’m currently in the Top 20 of the Entrepreneur of Impact competition and sitting at 11th place as we approach the next cut for Top 15. But more than anything, I’ve been reflecting on how much being part of communities like this one has meant to me—especially as someone building through writing, creativity, and storytelling. It’s not always easy to put your work out there, but spaces like this remind me why it matters. Thank you for the encouragement, inspiration, and support along the way 💛 https://entrepreneurofimpact.org/2026/julia-washington

My pleasure - I am cheering you on to win. How many more days of voting needed? I believe it's 2 votes a day I am happy to help my fellow authors 💕
A Helpful Referral-Based Resource for Kidlit Reviews
Hello everyone! I wanted to quickly share a resource I recently joined that may help with building reviews for your children’s books. The platform is Goodnightreads. I discovered it through YouTube and joined under their free program, which allows you to check out up to three books to review. The selection of books is intentionally small so titles receive focused attention — which is how they’re able to offer guaranteed reviews. I’ve listed my book The Girl in the Mirror there as I work to grow my reviews, and I’ll be sharing the creative graphic they created for it so you can see how they present books to readers. The graphic includes a free access link that can also be shared with friends and family. Since it’s referral-based, here’s my link if you’d like to explore it: 👉 https://goodnightreads.co/reader-info-referred-by?recordId=recxnH7PbEep9cwtn Just passing this along in case it supports someone else in the group. Wishing you all continued success on your publishing journey!

@Harleigh Manske, do you recommend this platform for exploring other books or getting reviews for your own books? Your advice is so valuable - I just wanted your input before I try. Mostly, I've been looking at other authors' books here, downloading them, and providing my fellow children's authors support with genuine reviews of their adorable books. I know you're busy with the move and your new book. Looking forward to your input.
The Making Space Series -free on Kindle Unlimited 📚.
https://a.co/d/06BGD1sy https://a.co/d/0236A6wB Hi everyone 🦋 I wrote 2 of the 5 books in the series from a child’s perspective, specifically for kids growing up in cluttered homes so they could relate to all those feeling that come with being in a cluttered home. This journey started when I was trying to explain to my own grandchildren why Grandma’s house was so full. I realized there weren’t many books that spoke to it in a gentle, relatable way. So I decided to write them myself. My personal path to decluttering inspired the series. I’m still learning as I go, and that’s what I share in these books: that making space isn’t about perfection, it’s about connection, compassion, and taking it one small step at a time. I hope you like 💕 -

Grateful to Be in This Community
Sometimes we shrink ourselves—especially when we’re sharing our stories and putting our creativity out into the world. This community has been such a reminder that our voices matter, and I’m truly grateful to be part of a space that supports growth, storytelling, and showing up authentically. 🤍 I’m currently in the final days of the Entrepreneur of Impact competition (Top 20 selection), and the support I’ve received so far has meant so much to me. If you feel called to support, I’d truly appreciate your vote (right now it counts as 2 for free and takes about 10 seconds): 🗳️ entrepreneurofimpact.org/2026/julia-washington Thank you all for being such an encouraging and inspiring community

New to writing, I created the Making Space Series to help kids in cluttered homes feel less alone.
