After digging through multiple peptide research communities and comparing user experiences, I found that gelling, cloudiness, stringiness, and clumping appear to be fairly common with Kisspeptin, particularly after reconstitution. If your vial suddenly looks more like Jell-O than a peptide solution, don’t panic. In many cases, it does not mean the peptide has been ruined. It is often related to the way Kisspeptin interacts with the reconstitution solution and environmental conditions. Here are the most commonly reported reasons and potential solutions. Why Does Kisspeptin Gel? Several factors may contribute: • pH differences. Some bacteriostatic water formulations appear to encourage gelling in certain Kisspeptin preparations. • Temperature shock. Reconstituting a cold vial with warmer bacteriostatic water, or vice versa, can temporarily cause the solution to become thick or cloudy. • Water quality. The type or brand of bacteriostatic water may make a difference. Some researchers report better results after switching brands. • Mixing technique. Shaking the vial aggressively can increase foaming and clumping. Gentle handling is always preferred. • Manufacturing differences. Some stabilized Kisspeptin formulations simply seem more prone to thickening than others. Tips to Help Prevent Gelling Before reconstitution: • Allow both the lyophilized peptide and bacteriostatic water to come to room temperature for about 30 to 60 minutes. • Slowly inject the bacteriostatic water down the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the peptide cake. • Gently swirl or roll the vial between your fingers. Do not shake. • If persistent gelling occurs, some researchers report improved results with a different brand of bacteriostatic water. If Your Kisspeptin Has Already Gelled Before assuming the vial is unusable, many researchers recommend trying the following: • Allow the vial to sit at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes and gently swirl. Many temporary gels become thinner on their own.
