Day 2 – 1/13/26
Daily disciplines ✅ Commitment kept ✅ Screentime today (as of writing this): 2 hour 42 minutes. Will update total screen time tonight! Reflection: My screen time is 2 hours and 28 minutes, which I’m really happy about. However, today was by no means easy. This was honestly the first time I’ve really experienced boredom, not just after work, but even during work. There was this constant, low level uncomfortable feeling throughout the day. I wouldn’t call it stress, but more like this persistent feeling of being understimulated or restless. It’s strange sitting with that instead of immediately reaching for my phone. I’m still trying to understand exactly what I’m feeling, but it’s definitely uncomfortable.

Daily disciplines ✅ Commitment kept ✅ Screentime today (as of writing this): 3 hour 38 minutes. Will update total screen time tonight! Reflection: Today was honestly pretty hard. I realized I have a habit of picking up my phone every 5–8 minutes almost unconsciously. It’s like I’m constantly trying to find something to entertain me, scrolling through WhatsApp, iMessages, email, anything. Most of the time I catch myself, put the phone down, But I’m noticing this loop happens probably every 8–10 minutes. It’s hella frustrating, but also really good. This process is making me aware of how deep this habit actually runs, and that awareness alone already feels like progress.
Reclaiming My Attention
Sup, my name is Evan Dobis. I’m from the USA, in the state of Montana. Lately I’ve had a pretty big realization, I’m living a huge portion of my life through my phone. My screen time is around 8 hours a day, and while I know I can lower it, the truth is I haven’t been intentional enough about it. That time adds up, and I can feel how much it’s been limiting me pulling me away from being present and from the people and things that actually matter in my real life. I’m at the point where I’m willing to go cold turkey on the commitments I set for myself and take this seriously. I’m genuinely curious to see how things change, how my focus improves, and what opens up in my life when I stop giving so much of my attention to a screen. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out and growing with you all.
