The Carousel Stop
I want to start by telling you something about permission. For years, I believed permission came from the outside - from achievements, from degrees, from other people's approval. I was a girl who learned to be invisible while trying to be extraordinary. I thought if I just achieved enough, climbed high enough, I'd finally have permission to take up space. But then something happened that changed everything. A breakup. A song. A city on the other side of the world. And I realized I'd been asking the wrong question my entire life. What if permission was never something to be earned? What if it was something I had to give myself? This is the story of how I learned that. And how a carousel taught me what I'd been missing the whole time.

Permission is a favorite topic!! I once made an IG reel where I went deep about this, and it resonated with a lot of people... me included... then for some reason I never came back to it! Funny, right?! EDITING! >> OK, @Emma Fábryová! I have seen it now. Is this the Carousel song? https://youtu.be/zAB5AC9yhY0?si=2iYtpY4wBIOR0fOM You hit me hard in so many spots proficient in 3 languages but lacking in "the language of my own truth". I also literally JUST heard @Janet Little's talk right before yours. You too ladies are hitting from different angles but both making it clear that we cannot serve while ignoring our own needs. When you said "chase your dreams" then talked about choosing, I had head-to-toe tingles from there. I *felt* the energy. I think I'm here in this group right now and even showing up with my own talk because I'm in a space where I'm giving myself permission too. So. Cheers to doing that together!! 🤩💗
SKOOLx - Become more yourself
For many years I have pretty much lost my ability to feel emotions. Until some things happened, that changed everything for me. Earlier this Year I shared my story for the first time within the World Stage Challenge that Mr @Ben Sherry held in The Live Event Studio including - what needed to happen so that I would change - which steps I took to becoming and - what it actually means to become more yourself It has been an awesome experience back then. And I love to be able to have an even bigger one this time. Thanks @Lucas Reuterstig for creating this opportunity for all of us. 🤩 Can't wait to see how 30+ attendees show up as theirselves in here and creating your own signature talk. I'm super excited to see all of them. ☺️ @Dani Rosenblad James @Natalie Duncan @Emma Fábryová @Wolfram Grohnert @Doa Kaptan @Rodrigo Rios @Kevin Pagan @Sungsoo Choi @Fredrik Lyngmark @John Doorbar @Subhan Nair @Éva Raposa @Janet Little @Sam Dunlop @Semih Yalap @Anil de Vries @Amir Salemi @Danny Hansen @Tony Mulligan @Lindsay Bruce @Craig Gauvreau @Justin Yip @Jutta Wohlrab

This was AMAZING live @Björn Hagemann! Going to watch again with the recording... now I'm curious which I'll prefer...!!!! It was SO good live! OK. Editing this because I've now watched it here too. Both were fantastic. I love this question so much that stopped you in your tracks "Who do you want to be?" It feels like a really important part of a lot of our stories when big beautiful changes happen. They happen not because of life but because of our choices to show up in the ways we want to! In another note, the control but feeling you had of your emotion was impressive -- I FELT IT when you swallowed after sharing that your mother died, and you couldn't cry. Other notes I made that feel good to share here: - The trigger is inside of you --> let the inner child react or take it by the hand (two choices) - Behavior is NOT identity. You really rocked this Björn!

OHHH you have me already with the title... I'm so curious about this...! EDITED @Tony Mulligan, OMG THE TEARS. This was really good. I just saw it. Great hook and start. Great visual. The brain tumor part hit home... my stepdad recently passed away from cancer, but he also had a brain tumor in his later days. I just sat here silently with my fingers on the keyboard but no real words for a moment. I guess that's all I can say about that. 🙃 And the HANDSHAKE. What a memorable and beautiful thing. Did you shake his hand just before he passed?! (And totally fine if I am prying, feel free to tell me to mind my business) Really touching, your dad must be so grateful to have his legacy honored in this way. 💕
What If Burnout Isn't the Problem?: Why High Achievers Lose Themselves Long Before They Burn Out
In this talk, Dr. Janet Little explores the hidden cost of success and why burnout is often a symptom—not the root cause. Through her personal journey, she reveals how confusing sacrifice with service can lead to self-abandonment and offers a powerful reframe for living and leading from a place of overflow rather than depletion.

BURNOUT! Speaking my language, can't wait to see this one!!!!! EDITED >> Just saw it. We're living parallel lives, Janet!! Wife of 21 years, mom to a teen (prayers on both sides, please! lol), and YES another achiever. I didn't want to be a doctor when I was 10, but I was and am a goal getter. I love the victories! I love chasing what I want. But I have poured from an empty cup too. I have been there. SO MANY good analogies and visuals here @Janet Little -- well done. Truly! And I FELT it when you talked about surrender. The two biggest things I took from this are what you probably hoped I would >> Sacrifice is NOT Service. And depleted does NOT mean more valuable! 🔥
The Cost of Silence, the Power of a Voice.
My name is Ayu Masruroh, and I come from Indonesia. Today, I would like to share a story about courage, justice, and the power of speaking up. It is a story that changed my life and helped transform the lives of many others across my country. My speech is entitled “The Cost of Silence, the Power of a Voice.” I would like to say that I am truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event. I am still learning English and still learning to speak confidently in front of a camera. I know about this competition from @Ben Sherry, and I would like to sincerely thank the organizers for creating this platform @Lucas Reuterstig. I would also greatly appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or constructive criticism on my video, as I am always eager to learn and improve. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy my speech. :)

What an amazing blessing to have SO MUCH courage that you'd be learning a language and still show up like this. I felt courageous, and it's my first language! 😆 EDITED: Whoah, now I understood from your talk about a different kind of courage. When I heard the beginning, I had hoped that "your whole world" would be a blessing but felt that's not where you were going. "Silence has an expiration date" really stuck out for me. But also just the way you're showing up. AMAZING!!!!! 💕
