Hello!
Hi, my name is Ann, I’m from Tivoli, NY, and my creative business/service is Gallop Hill which is a botanical skincare business I founded and am doing all of the creative for. I want to get these things from Asterisk Create: 1. Confidence in designing cool social. I am Gen X and used to design cool stuff that people used AOL to dial up for lol. 2. Reach my niche audience with honest, exciting, approachable content 3. Did I say confidence? Reach a new level with my business marketing. For fun, I like to: 1. COOK, I love to cook 2. Shopping! 3. Travel, especially now, I have done big traveling to Europe but now enjoying being hyper local. Visiting the little towns along the Hudson and plan on a long casual drive from NY to Charleston SC. You might want to scroll the vid as its kinda long, but it is all the stuff I love to do when I am creating my lotions & potions, and yes, my filling machine is a pain in the neck and loud. It feels so good to put labels on — so much work has gone into making each batch of product and it is the final step in my lab. I want feel good shipping them out too and that's why I am here to learn how to reach my customers.

Im trying to level up my photography. I know how to apply a preset and the usual exposure controls but thats it. I like the presets I use but I dont like how they change my skin tone. Anytips that could make my photos better?

Also, the calibration tab can effect the skin tone too but its more complicated but can have some really cool effects. I've uploaded one of my photos with the calibration settings. in this example i dont mess with my HSL i used the calibration for this look

@Zach Rasmussen mmmm not in lightroom you send it to photoshop but idk if id recommend that because it could look a tad unnatural. you can however apply the preset and go into the masking tool and select subject or select person and make edits there like select person -> Adjust Orange Hue
Best website layout?
I currently have stable retainer clients so I'm looking to take some time and redo my website to begin attracting new ones. I'm very interested in funnels; all the way from explore page reels to my bio to links to website to booking to client-facing portals. Finding out what website layout is best for retaining new attention and providing the cleanest method for clients to get ahold of me is my top priority. I'm also curious if you guys have opinions on how portfolio work should be shown. One page with different case studies for my best work? Everything in one demo reel? I'm a perfectionist as you could infer and haven't been happy with any layout and it seems every guru and influencer has a different method. If any of you leaders have a tried and trusted format recommendation that you trust I'd love to put it into place immediately. Just brainstorming, thank you in advance!

funny enough i learned web development because i hated template sites and i wanted my website to feel premium and a portfolio itself. I used webflow because its total control but it has a steep learning curve. Framer is another one i would highly recommend. For portfolio sites the best thing to remember is that theyre hiring you for your skill and what outcome you will give them Homepage Your home page should basically outline what your service is and what you can do for other people and who you are Depending on what services you’re offering my recommendation is have a demo reel or video sales letter. And i would put your best 3 or 5 best projects and have a button like “see more” that links to your portfolio page 3-5 testimonials/companies that have hired you Portfolio And then display your projects in a bento/grid that link to a page about the project and for each project i like to write them as case studies and show behind the scenes images and talk about the outcome of the project and maybe some technical details that you want to share. But its important to talk about the projects outcome. Like for me i developed a webapp for a church that increased theyre inperson engagement by 40% and 200% increased online engagement. People like knowing numbers. Id be happy to hop on a call with you at some point and breakdown a website layout structure for you completely for free

Its proof in the pudding really i personally don’t like putting hollow guarantees on my websites. Your definitely on the right track if you have any more questions about it let me know!
🎬 Let’s Workshop Your Reel Hooks
I had this thought the other day after our content creation call last week where we can collaborate on hooks or discussed hooks that did well and why. If you’ve got a reel hook you’re unsure about (or one that just isn’t hitting 👀), drop it in the comments. Comment your hook exactly how you’d say it at the start of your reel, and we'll workshop it with you tightening it up, making it punchier, and helping it stop the scroll.

Slump after good progress for a while content feedback
Hey y’all I had thankfully gotten back into the groove for a while and engagement was pretty great but a video I expected to do well underperformed :/ could I get some feedback? Also how can I come back from a 2 week break and get engagement again. I was doing super good in December but then I took at 2 week break to finish a song and engagement hasn’t been good now. Thank you guys 🫶 Post for feedback: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DT05o3_kgbh/?igsh=MTJxZXg3a2p4aXhkNg==

I agree with what Jordan was saying here. I also think too your style is pretty well tuned I think just that consistency and more story content will do very well. I'm sure ur story will resonate a lot with people and slowly build up that traction you're looking for :)
