Unpopular Opinion Exercise 🖊️
Some of the best ways to grab the attention of your audience is to throw out an unpopular opinion. 🤢 This doesn't mean that you need to agree with it. But it's interesting to see how much the comments can start! 😮 The chatting explodes and it's good to choose a topic that correlates with what you are writing about, the genre, or about taking on a dream. 💭 So, play with me and write a post or comment starting with, “Most people won’t agree with this, but...”

@Dani Rosenblad James I actually agree with that statement. According Jewish religion, G-d decides how much a person is going to earn in the coming year. We have to work for it, but no one can take away what was meant to be ours. I earned $0.08 on Amazon this month! And it is all mine!🤣

Since I had my chat with @JeanAlbert Arnold and learned even more about his writing style, I thought this would be a fun practice for us! He has done this and thrives at adding humor into the darkness. 😁 So, each of us can come up with a story that's on a dark topic, but turn it into something more light hearted. This is going to be challenging! But I think this can help us see the light within the darkness. For instance, you can add some light within the topic of death. Or, think of something that you have experienced and hold onto the good that came from it! 💡 Let's create a story about a dark topic and bring the light to it. That can be in humor, inspiration, hope or however you feel you can bring life to the topic that you choose! 💥 I know, after I've written this, I'm thinking maybe this is too dark... 😳 But let's see! You can NEVER learn something new if you NEVER try! 🔥

Who Actually Reads the Introduction in the Book? 📕
There have been dozens of books that I have read and it seems many of them I hop over the introduction. I don't feel the need to read it. But I know that this isn't true for everyone. So, I was curious, who actually reads the introduction that's in a book? 📖 Some books don't have one and then others have theirs written by someone else other than the author of the book. Why do you feel it's important or not important in a book? Please share your thoughts! I'm interested to hear what you all think about this! 🤔 Do you read the introduction in a book? 📕

@Dani Rosenblad James If I liked the book, I often go back to the intro, so the book won't be finished so soon. If the book is part of a series I've been reading, I often read the intro, because I want to know more about the author at that point.
What's YOUR Plan for This Week?? 😊
Okay, it's the beginning of a new week! 🤩 AND, if you're like me, you have a schedule in place! Oh, by the way, I used to NOT be like this! I used to do things by the seat of my pants! But I realized that was bringing unneeded stress with it. Sooo, I became a person that has a weekly schedule. I mean, I have a physical calendar book that I bring with me ALMOST EVERYWHERE!! 🤯 I NEVER thought I would be that kind of person. But you know what?! It works for me!! My weekly schedule sometimes varies depending on the week. But I have a general one that is my go to. AND then, as I mentioned my physical calendar. ❤️ I plan on writing my book 5 days of this week, studying, working on reconnecting with people from my communities, social medias and where ever else I feel is good, and then I plan on being consistent with listening to what I may need for my physical and mental health. ❤️ Now, let's share if we have a plan or not. No judgement. 😁 I'm just curious! 😉

@Dani Rosenblad James Yes, I continue my story on substack. Also I'm writing now another prequel, a short story about how and why did my main character became a 'dark hero'. I'm hoping to publish it on Amazon, the same week, when an incident that happens in the prequel, will be mentioned in that week's chapter. Also on a different online forum I am writing a sweet romance. It is going to be a short story as well, and it goes surprisingly well. I'm not a big fan of sweet romances as a reader, but writing it is REAL fun! That was VERY surprising!

@Dani Rosenblad James Thanks!
hero/villain
Hi! I recently discussed a story idea with a few friends, and one of them mentioned, that her favourite character was the evil aunt. This is how I described her: "Auntie Hypocrite (Leah’s late father’s sister). She frames herself as “concerned about propriety, family honour, your poor mother’s memory, blah blah blah,” but really she’s just jealous and wants Yaakov for herself." It took me approximately 2 minutes to write this. Wasn't even putting that much effort into it. In my online novel when the villain, the Evil Queen cam into play (there are a lot of chess metaphors in the book, the hero often refers to the heroine as 'His Queen', hence her chapter was called 'The Evil Queen steps on the board'). She was basically a cartoon villain. An evil socialite who is spreading lies and gossip. She was active in 2 chapters, had zero depth, and people LOVED her. Why? Does that mean I am better at writing villains than heroes?

@Steve Belanger Yes. I post one chapter per week on substack. And talk about it on a few online forums, and of course use substack notes for promoting. I also wrote one spin off short story, a prequel. I sold a grand total of 1 book, so if you want to learn how to be successful, so far it's not me. BUT!! I'm working on it!

@Steve Belanger Why are you not surprised that people like the villains better?

I am in the midst of writing my first novel! It will be a clean, Jewish romance novel. I publish it on https://estherbuchmanthewriter.substack.com/
