Getting back in shape
There’s a lot of hills to climb to get back in shape. The first one is bothering to do anything at all when your body feels like it wants to do absolutely nothing. Gym memberships can cost quite a bit of money. There’s a lot of social factors. Traveling is another hill to climb each time you wanna work out. My best advice to anyone trying to find their way back to fitness is to train however you want wherever you are. Find joy in it, let it be easily accessible and fun. Don’t let anyone say it’s not “proper” training just because they go harder or more frequent. Anything is better than nothing, even more so in the beginning. Today I’m doing some shoulder and leg exercises on my front porch. Once I’m consistent enough with this type of training, I’ll be motivated for a gym membership rather than scared by it. Have a great day lads

Week 1: ✅ Good job man
Day 3
Been off the bottle, snow, and the weed for three consecutive days now. Slept horribly, waking up with minor panic attacks and cold sweats. But I got up early and started applying for more jobs online, so head feels a little more clear. I’m broke as hell and behind on rent, which I guess a few others in here can relate to. The toughest thing to quit has been weed and alcohol. I’ve smoked daily for the better part of a decade now, and as I’m employed in bars and restaurants it’s really tough to not have that beer after your shift. But I’m keeping my head down and trying to set myself up for financial, psychological and physical change. This place has helped motivate me to be accountable for my actions, not just the excuses I’ve been living by for years now. Thanks for that. Keep your head up lads. 🖖🏽
