This hits too close to home right now. So much easier to just hit a button and have the insurance company ask where you'd like the cheque deposited.

Kids Policies
My plan is to open up 2 policies for my kids this year. I like the idea of my banking systems “Fiscal year end” in November. Keeping all the policies that I start in that month.

Thats a smart way to organize your policies. Another way to do it is set it up so you have "quaterly" or "monthly" premium payments due. Each new policy added has its own month associated with it so you don't have a build-up of a large amount of money to deposit at one time. Watch out for Parkinson's Law! A large amount of money sitting and waiting to be deposited at year end starts to look real nice and juicy.

Looking to start my second policy, I have the cash flow to sustain the policy, but not the built up cash. Looking to set up a 10k per year policy, and backdate it so my first premium is 20k. Looking to get the pros and cons of borrow money from a HELOC to fund the initial premium, and immediately taking a loan to recapture most of the HELOC balance.
