Discussion Post Two - Identity
How would you describe the difference between the "old you" and the "new you"?
2 likes • Nov '25
The “old me” was someone carrying the heavy weight of responsibility—marriage, kids, the military, work, and the constant fear and anxiety that came with always having to be strong, prepared, and on guard—someone defined by duty more than personal clarity. The “new me,” however, is calmer and more grounded, no longer shaped by fear but by intention; single, focused, and stepping into a new journey guided by faith, seeking God, meaning, and a deeper sense of purpose.
Discussion Post One - How to Hear the Voice of God
Which part of mindset and spiritual transformation is most challenging for you: confession, forgiveness, or thought transformation? How do you think this impacts your ability to hear the voice of God in your life?

For me, confession has been the most challenging part of mindset and spiritual transformation. Coming from a military background, I was taught to keep emotions in check, stay strong, and push through pain without showing weakness. That mindset made it difficult to open up and be vulnerable — especially about my own mistakes or the things I’ve struggled with internally. On top of that, going through a divorce added another layer of guilt and pride that made confessing even harder. Admitting where I’ve fallen short or where I still carry hurt feels like surrendering control, and that’s something I was trained to avoid. But I’m learning that true confession isn’t about weakness; it’s about healing and honesty before God.
