This is where I need to practice self discipline
Look in the Mirror
You look in the mirror and you see them. Your grandmother's eyes. Your grandfather's nose. Features that come from a line of people stretching back further than any record. I see my dad's face all the time. And I wonder what he knew that never got shared. But when you reach for what those features came with, there is silence. The language stumbles on your tongue. The prayers were never taught. The ceremonies are stories at best, and most of the stories are gone too. You know you come from somewhere. You just do not know how to get back. Maybe your family assimilated hard. Somebody two or three generations back decided that survival meant leaving the old ways behind. They stopped speaking the language. They stopped practicing. They chose safety, and you inherited the silence. Maybe you are mixed, and you never felt like enough of anything. Suspended between worlds with no clear place to land. Maybe your family kept the surface things. The food. The holidays. But the deep practices, the medicine ways, the knowing that gave it all meaning? Gone quiet. Hear me on this. The silence in your family is not the end of your lineage. It is a pause in it. And you are the one who feels the pause. That is not an accident. That is a call. Does this land for anyone here? You don't have to tell the whole story. Just tell me what country or tradition your features come from. Mine traditions are from Mexico and further south. My grandfather used to say we were from the Inca people. How he knew or what he knew I'll never know.

My traditions are Cree rooted from the Fur Trade Days in Northern Manitoba Canada, my great grandmother named as one of the first settlers in a community I grew up in and also a child of survivors of residential school. I would like to preserve that heritage because I come from a long lineage of strong traditional women who survived and I chose to carry that strength and resilience forward with my children, grandchildren and generations to come to remember who they are and where they come from because my grandmothers shaped me who I am today and guided me to find myself that’s one thing I’m very grateful for and honour of them carry forward that strength. I was a wondering soul in this world until for awhile until I started learning and discovering who I am and that I have a purpose in this world
THE SHAMAN'S JOURNEY
Something is changing here. Not a tweak — a return. This community now has a name that finally tells the truth about what it is: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻'𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆. Let me tell you why. The shaman's journey is my heart. It is my home. It's the one place where I am most at home with my connection to the divine — and most at home with myself. No performance. No pretending. Just the truth of who I am and Who made me. I don't say that lightly. This work saved my life. There was a time I was lost. Struggling. Insecure. So full of doubt I could barely hear myself think. Then I learned to journey — to move into the unseen realms and build a real, living relationship with divine spirit: with power animals, helping spirits, compassionate beings of light. And everything turned. From that moment on, I never looked back. The journey didn't just heal me. It carried me home — back to my roots in Mexican curanderismo, the traditional healing arts of my lineage. For seventeen years I've walked and taught these two paths together, because they are one path wearing two names. They overlap. They rhyme. And they are both grounded in the same two connections: 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 — 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 — 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝗻, 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺. That is what this work does. That is what this community is for. So here is what you need to know: the change is effective now. Starting this August, The Shaman's Journey becomes a restructured community built around real, hands-on training — not theory, not vibes, but the actual practice of journeying, protection, and traditional healing. This is the start of that. If you've been waiting for the real thing — the deep thing, the thing you can feel in your bones and is missing from most of what's out there — you're already in the right place. Welcome to The Shaman's Journey.

What Do You Need Right Now?
Without overthinking it: what do you need more of right now—grounding, clarity, courage, or direction?

@Anthony Rios I’m feeling anxious about the unknown and getting back to the workforce after a long stretch but my heart is still set at helping others and because I had a traumatic experience in the workplace I get flashbacks this training has helped me look at what’s happened to me but I want to be able to move forward with confidence no questions asked and that’s one of my weaknesses

Self doubt still lingers I guess
Day 4 - focus on Commitment Statement
SUPPLEMENTAL POST · DAY 4 The Commitment Statement Why Writing It Changes Everything for Empaths I'm sharing this here because I went through so many blocks before getting to the point of understanding the power of writing it down with details and precision. It makes all the difference! Remember -- An affirmation is something you say. A commitment is something you decide. There is a gap between those two things that most people who carry a healing gift never cross. And that gap is where so much potential quietly disappears. When you write a commitment statement with your name on it, signed and dated, naming the specific practice you will do — not someday, but this month — you are creating a record of a decision. The nervous system registers that differently than a repeated phrase. Something in you knows the difference between a wish and a promise made to yourself in writing. Structure is what most sensitives resist. Somewhere along the way, they absorbed the idea that structure closes the gift down. I used to think this because I thought walking this path was meant to be solitary! I was in fear mostly of being seen. I learned that structure is what lets the gift move without you collapsing in the process. The journal question that follows the statement matters just as much. Where in my life have I felt the cost of untrained sensitivity? Sit with it honestly. Not as self-criticism. As clarity. What you find there becomes the real reason you keep the commitment. Not motivation borrowed from the outside. Understanding that comes from within. The kind that holds when things get difficult as they will. What I know after years of this work is that every sensitive person who made the shift from surviving their gift to working with it has one thing in common. There was a moment. It looked quiet from the outside. And with just a pen. A page. A name. But that moment was a door. And on the other side of it, things that felt impossible before — steadiness, discernment, the ability to help without losing yourself — began to become real.

I experienced the cost of untrained sensitivity in myself was during my Nursing career. I worked as a community health nurse in various isolated reserves. Being an empath with untrained sensitivity I had to leave the field for my own well being. I eventually burned right out and lost myself for awhile and felt the whole world against me. Today I believe everything happens for a reason snd the and that the Universe has a better plan for me I can feel the anticipation This will be my daily affirmation for the next month and where I am at in my healing journey: I COMMIT TO MY HEALING JOURNEY WITH AN OPEN HEART AND A STEADY SPIRIT. I ACKNOWLEDGE THE PAIN I HAVE CARRIED, THE WEUGHT I HAVR SERVIVED AND THE STRENGTH THAT HAS GUIDED ME THROUGH MY DARK SEASONS. I CHOSE TO HEAL NOT INLY FOR MYSELF BUT TO HONOUR MY ANCESTORS, MY KOKOMS, MY MOTHER ALL SERVIVORs OF RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS AND THE GENERATIONS AFTER MR WHO DESERVE A SOFTER WORLD I WILL LISTEN TO MY BODY, HONOUR MY EMOTIONS AND SPEACK MY TRUTH EVEN WHEN IT TREMBLES. I WILL PROTECT MY PEACE NURTURE MY SPIRIT AND ALLOW MYSELF TO GROW INTO THE PERSON I WAS MEANT TO BECOME MY HEALING IS MY RESPONSIBILITY, MY LIBERATION, AND MY GIFT TO MY FUTURE 08/13/2026 Elsie I have a card I carry with me when I forget to do my morning ritual. It’s awesome
