Welcome!!
Hello to new members.. the NeuroRebuild community is slowly on the rise.. I couldn't be more excited. I'm here to promote awareness of the mind, body and soul. Ultimately to help improve one's living experience.. catered to those who have experienced trauma, mentally or physically and are seeking a more balanced, calm and peaceful life. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding my story. Right now I am adjusting to life as a single Father to my beautiful Daughter, working full time as a concrete finisher and I produce electronic music and work on my NeuroRebuild course when I have the time. The course is available, I will always be adding more and adjusting it to ensure it has as much information as possible. Currently expanding into modules focused on your energy field, chakras and the science backing it all. Enabling us to understand how our bodies store negative, traumatic energy, how that truly effects us and what can be done about it (alot can be done about it!!) Lots of love to all and thank you for following. All the best Matt
Thank you Matt, I agree we should be more aware and in touch with our bodies.
Classroom
I find the information in the classroom very insightful, thank you.
Welcome to NeuroRebuild
Hey everyone, my name is Matt Downie, the founder of NeuroRebuild. This is my story — and what I hope to share through this community. Growing up in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada was a blessing. I was raised in a safe and loving home. I played hockey and lacrosse, started mountain biking and snowboarding around age 12, and got into DJing and music production by 15. I was always high-energy, headfirst into everything I did — a bit of a ruckus. I got my first concussion 7 years old, followed by dozens and dozens more over the years as a hockey goaltender, and later as a physical, defensive player in Lacrosse. I gave big hits, took big hits, and got into fights on and off the turf. When I wasn’t playing, I was pushing limits in snowboarding or mountain biking. The crashes, hospital visits, blackouts, nausea, and dizziness all blurred together. Yet doctors rarely warned me of any long-term impact — and somehow, I always bounced back. Until I didn’t. Around age 26, I began noticing subtle irregularities — mood swings, irritability, memory lapses, and moments of anger that seemed to come from nowhere. By 28, I was in therapy. By 30, I was on antidepressants, battling depression, anxiety, and substance abuse just to stay afloat. I was trying to be a father, husband, and friend, but everything felt impossible. It was a slow, invisible collapse that took six years to fully unfold. By 32, I had sustained close to thirty concussions. I was living in a constant state of fight-or-flight — panic attacks, suicidal thoughts and tendicies, endless ER visits. My mind felt foreign. I lost my sense of purpose, love, and hope. On November 13th, my marriage collapsed. On November 14th, 2024, a QEEG scan confirmed what I already knew deep down — all four quadrants of my brain were severely dysregulated. “The hallmark of a concussion scan,” the doctor said. But I refused to give up. I went through 10 sessions of psychedelic-assisted therapy and 35 rounds of Magnetic Electronic Resonance Therapy (MeRT). Alongside that, I rebuilt my foundation through nutrition, exercise, breathwork, meditation, and journaling.
