Is anyone familiar with applying for adult disability for a child who has been receiving disability since he was 6 months old? I have paperwork sent to me by SSA as my grandson will be turning 18 in September. My questions are - #1 he is still in high school until May 2027 and on a 504 plan and #2 he has been receiving disability since he was 6 months old for a physical disability. Since they reevaluate every 3 years, wouldn't SS have up to date medical records? Also, my grandson receives survivor benefits as his father died and that has already been approved to continue until graduation.
