How to Start a Business With No Money AND Not Stay Broke When You Make It
Money comes in, bills get paid. Swipes happen, and whatever’s left, well, it disappears. No system. No structure. Just reacting. When @Adam McCollough asked me to join this community as a Resident Expert, I was honored to share my 40 years of financial expertise. Money is my favorite topic, and I want to see every entrepreneur succeed in their business because money flows in all ways always, and we all deserve to be financially free. I’m going to say something most people won’t-you don’t have a money problem, you have a no-plan problem. I’ve sat across from women making great money, and still afraid to open their bank account. Not because they’re bad with money. Because no one ever showed them what to actually do with it. In 2026, starting a business with no money is easy. Making money is easy. Keeping it. Growing it. Feeling calm with it. That’s where everything falls apart. Most business owners are doing this: Money comes in, bills get paid. Swipes happen and then, whatever is left, disappears. No spending plan. No structure. Just paying the bills. Here’s one thing you can do TODAY (even if you have $0): 🗝️Decide your percentages before the money comes in. When your first $100 hits, you already know: 💰what % is yours to spend 💰what % goes to savings 💰what % goes to future goals or debt Because if you wait until the money is sitting there, you’ll spend it emotionally, not strategically. That’s the foundation of my Money Multiplier System. It’s not about how much you make-it's about what you do with it. So I'm curious. Where are you at right now? Drop A, B, C, or D below—I’ll respond and give you your next step 💖 You don’t need more money, you need a plan for the money you already have (and the money that’s coming).🗝️🌬️💖💸

A - my niche is ADHD. I developed a system for navigating ADHD. My Skool community is centered around it. I am in the process of turning it into a digital product. I am turning several other ADHD courses I made in to mini-courses. I have the plans... I am working on the money piece! I switched my community to paid about 2 weeks ago. I currently have a few new members doing the 7 day free trial. I am on track to start having an MMR with Skool. Right now, I've been fronting my business costs. Around $200 a month. My first money goal - $1000 a month from Skool and sales of my courses. I want to be able to cover my expenses and have capital to invest back into the business...so hiring some professionals to clean up my brand etc. Since my full-time job sustains me - I will be able to roll my digital income back into the business....until I hit the tipping point...the digital income sustains me!
Stop Hiding Your Best Stuff: Why "Free" is Your Secret Weapon
There is a lot of noisy, terrible advice out there from so-called “experts.” They will tell you to guard your knowledge, lock your expertise behind an expensive paywall, and only give people a crummy, low-value “lead magnet” to get their email address, so you can send a string of automated sales letters to them. Let me tell you the honest truth: People who give you that advice are usually just doing it because they are more interested in making a quick sale than actually helping you. Giving what you do away for free could be one of the absolute best things you ever do for your business. And I don’t mean a half-baked PDF that barely has any value. 𝗜 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗳𝗳. I know we all have bills to pay and money to make. But if you want to build a real, sustainable business using the skills you already have, you need to understand one fundamental rule: 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲. When you chase money, it’s elusive. But when you focus purely on helping people and providing massive value straight away, people will literally queue up to pay you. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 This is a hardwired psychological trigger in all of us. When people feel like they have received a massive amount of value or taken a lot from you, they feel a deep-seated urge to give something back. We all naturally crave balance. If you genuinely help someone solve a problem without holding your hand out for cash immediately, they are going to remember you. They will want to repay that value when the time comes. 2. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁 People need a chance to see what you are actually like before they commit their hard-earned cash. Giving it away for free gives people a risk-free way to find out about you, see how good you are at what you do, and start to trust you. People are also creatures of habit. Once someone has used your service for three weeks or so, it becomes so much easier for them to stay loyal to you than it is to go off and find a stranger to do the exact same thing. Napoleon Hill used this exact method to fill an entirely empty apartment block. He gave people six months rent-free, while the neighbouring block was struggling to find a single tenant. His competitors thought he’d gone mad, but once his tenants moved in and built a life there, they stayed. He achieved a 100% occupancy, whilst his competitors were still struggling years later.

I've been giving my whole program away for free for months - no takers. I a closed my community to paid. Getting people into the classroom is harder than pulling teeth...
I am going to start having an MMR! 🤩
I changed my community to paid about 2 weeks ago. $7 a month. I settled into the idea that it would slow growth, but...whatever...I am doing way too much work to not be getting paid. Well, I had one current member upgrade to premium. 4 new members join on the 7 day trial and one of those upgraded to premium. 🎊🎊 I am so excited!

After seeing @Elizabeth Hadzic 's post, it occurred to me that we all have some really useful FREE tools that we use on a regular basis. Given that our most valuable commodity of time is so precious and the research in finding these FREE resources takes time, Let's help our fellow members and share any free tools that you personally use below, with a simple heading like: Free PDF Tools https://www.ilovepdf.com/ Make a fillable PDF. https://www.sejda.com/pdf-editor The only criteria is it has to be fully functional and usable with no watermarks etc, or free trials. Add them in the comments below as you think of them. List as many as you like, but do check it's not been listed already to avoid duplicates. (I will remove duplicates)
