Hello Everyone!
My name is Linus, I’m from the Boston area and I’ve been vegan for 2 months. I’m looking forward to getting to know the community better but I’m excited to be here. I have been lifting for 5 years and primarily looking for more vegan high protein meals but also just happy to have a community of like-minded and compassionate people!

Do you have Instagram? I go to school in the New England area and need more vegan friends who are my age 😭
Vegan Label Implications
Does veganism imply perfection and therefore breed guilt/shame/identity collapse over slip-ups? Does it allow room for real-life variation and human foibles, especially during transition? Does it add unnecessary pressure to perform that keeps people from trying or succeeding? How perfect do you have to be and for how long until you can call yourself a vegan? Is plant-based a better descriptor? Do labels even matter? What are your thoughts?

@Vicky Nelson I agree with this. A small percent of 100% perfect vegans isn’t going to do a ton, but a large chunk of people eating 80% arguably has the same effect as 100% vegans. There’s a puritan pipeline in our community that I think although logical, does more harm than good for our movement and steers people away. We get so caught up in definitions (people often emphasizing POSSIBLE and missing PRACTICABLE) and black and white thinking that it creates burnout and misses the essence of veganism, reducing exploitation.
Hi!
I am Eleanor, and I joined because I basically have zero vegan friends. Eating and shopping vegan isn’t hard. It’s just social situations and living in a non vegan world. I’m looking to build more community around my moral and ethical values to avoid burnout. I love hiking, reading, going to the gym, and social and environmental advocacy. I am about to go into my second year of school at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, but I am from Maryland. I think I might major in International studies, anthropology, or French, or maybe an amalgamation of the three, and want to have a career participating in anything that can change the world for the good.
