I Screwed Up My Pricing (Learn From My Mistakes)
I’m going to be real with you for a second because I messed up… and it cost me money. This month alone, I likely missed out on an extra $64–$128+ in royalties. If I really sat down and calculated this over the past year… yeah, we’re not doing that math today 😅 But here’s what happened...and more importantly, what you can learn from it. When I launch a new book, I usually price my ebook low (around $2.99) to get early traction. The goal is to drive initial sales, build momentum, and help the algorithm start picking it up. That part? Solid strategy. The problem is… I never went back and updated the pricing on a bunch of my books. And that’s where I dropped the ball. My usual pricing strategy is to bump ebooks up to $4.99–$5.99 after the launch phase. Not only does that increase royalties per sale, but it also helps position the paperback as the better value, which is where I like to drive most of my revenue. But I had multiple books just sitting there… still priced at $2.99… while continuing to get consistent ebook sales. So every single one of those sales? I was leaving $1–$2 on the table. That adds up FAST. Today, I finally paused, reviewed my numbers, and caught it. I went back through my catalog and updated my pricing across the board. Lesson learned. 👉 Don’t just focus on launching your books—manage them like assets. 👉 Set a reminder to revisit your pricing after your promo period ends. 👉 Small tweaks like this can quietly increase your income without creating anything new. Mistakes happen. But if you’re paying attention, they turn into opportunities. Go check your pricing… you might find some hidden money sitting there 👀

@Krista Brea Love that perspective, books truly are long-term assets, and when it comes to ads, most struggle not because of spend but how campaigns are structured, so I’m curious: are you finding the challenge more in targeting or in converting the traffic you’re already paying for?
Coloring Books & Keyword Research
Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about people wanting to create coloring books, and I get it. They’re fun, creative, and honestly a really great entry point into self-publishing. But here’s the part most people don’t realize… Not all coloring books are created equal. Some niches are completely oversaturated, while others still have real opportunities to make money. The difference isn’t luck—it comes down to doing the research first. Anytime I start a new book idea, I always begin with keyword research. That’s how I validate whether something actually has demand before I spend time creating it. The tool I use is Publisher Rocket.🚀 It’s definitely more of an 💰 investment, but if you plan on doing multiple books, it pays for itself quickly. That said, I know not everyone wants to invest in tools right away, so I decided to make this easier for you. 🔥 I created a pack of 15 PROFITABLE Sports Coloring Book Keywords These are: ✔️ Pre-researched ✔️ Opportunity-based ✔️ Ready for you to use ⏳ And I’m only keeping this available until the end of the month to keep it exclusive. 👉 Grab it now for just $10 If this is your first time creating a coloring book, just know the process can take way longer than expected. Coming up with ideas, trying to get AI to generate images the way you want, fixing designs, it can turn into a pretty frustrating and time-consuming process if you’re doing everything manually. That’s actually why I started testing a tool called Colorin. It simplifies the process a lot and makes it much easier to generate an entire coloring book without going one page at a time. If you’re serious about getting started, this will save you a ton of time. 👉 CHECK OUT COLORIN HERE use discount code CREATOR25 for 20% off the tool If you’ve been thinking about creating a coloring book, this is your sign to do it—but do it strategically.

@Tanya Orr Love this, hairstylists are sitting on a goldmine of untapped ideas; the real question is, are you solving a problem your clients ask about daily? Most successful products come from repeated conversations, not random inspiration, so what’s something you explain over and over in your chair?
